Evidently not everyone in this world has gotten the memo that Queen B can do no wrong and normal rules do not apply to Beyonce. (I mean come on -- she and Jay went to Cuba) Zahi Hawass did not get the memo. After Beyonce was late to an appointment with Hawass to a tour, he took it upon himself to ban the singer from the Egyptian pyramids, according to Vanity Fair. "She said she would come at 3 p.m. but she came late. I said 'You have to say I'm sorry I'm late.' But she didn't open her mouth," Hawass said.

In 2012, Northwestern University junior Alex Nee was appearing in a college mainstage production of "Rent" and thinking about life after graduation. But a chance visit from a casting director led to the lead role as Johnny in the second tour of "American Idiot" - the Tony Award-winning musical based on Green Day's rock opera album of the same title - and Nee put his senior year on hold to perform across the country and in the UK. Anne Gold is two weeks away from giving birth and yet this weekend, she's set to invite dozens of strangers into her house to, well, check things out because John Issa, the guy who designed the place, wants to show off his handiwork. “John asked us to participate in the tour, and he and his family have been very nice to us, and I respect them, so we agreed to allow the tour, despite the bad timing,” she said. So few great hard rock bands exist anymore that Middle Class Rut would sound refreshing if they weren't so damn powerful. Rather than a cool breeze, the Sacramento duo - which recently expanded to a quintet on stage - is more like an entire trough of freezing water blasted at your face. It's a wake-up call. The group's recently released “Pick Up Your Head” moves forward from 2010's under-heralded “No Name No Color,” as the new record finds singer/guitarist Zack Lopez covering more varied lyrical and melodic material, while drummer Sean Stockham continues to drive the music with both force and precision.

By most standards, Shane Ohmer has taken the road less traveled in his dance career. His first introduction to dance came in fourth grade when he accompanied a neighbor girl to her drill team under the impression that they'd be working with power tools. "They were instead dancing with pompoms and making fun formations and doing kick lines," he said. "And I stepped right up and got in that frickin' kick line. " After graduation from his Cincinnati high school, Ohmer began ballet training in Seattle, but moved to Chicago in 2006 at age 19 to train at Lou Conte Dance Center and booked his first full-time dance job with River North Dance Chicago.
