Don't expect to catch a high-speed train when tuning in to AMC's Western "Hell on Wheels" ( 9 p.m. Nov. 6; 2.5 stars ). The new series that explores the building of the Union Pacific railroad chugs along at its own, slow pace. Set in 1865, just after the Civil War, "Hell on Wheels" is basically a story of revenge, not unlike the Clint Eastwood's spaghetti Westerns. Former Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannan (Anson Mount) is out to kill the group of Union soldiers who raped and murdered his wife.

New regulations on city limo drivers could force a shutdown of on-demand car service Uber, and the company isn't taking it lying down. Under a proposed change to city ordinances made by the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, Uber's limo services, Uber Black, would no longer be able to use electronic measuring devices to calculate fare--a staple of the company's service--nor would they be able to charge based on time or distance....

Chicago's food truck industry will keep on truckin', but the rules may change. The ordinance regulating food trucks advanced Thursday out of the City Council Committee on License and Consumer Protection after nearly four hours of discussion. City officials tried to balance the concerns of restaurant owners and needs of food truck operators. “We think that local restaurants are really the cornerstones of our neighborhoods, also probably the largest employer in the city and also possibly the state.

Sam Mack played in the NBA for 10 seasons for five teams. But while his old teams aren't playing right now, Mack still is. He's a member of the American Basketball Association's Chicago Steam. Last season the Steam were the Midwest Regional ABA champs and Mack was an all-star. With the increasing likelihood that the Bulls won't play this year, the Steam are hoping basketball fans will turn their attention to the ABA. RedEye chatted with Mack about the ABA and the NBA lockout. What should NBA fans know about the ABA?

"Sesame Street" is spoofing its fellow PBS show "Downton Abbey" on Feb. 4 with "Upside Downton Abbey. " As you can see in the clip above, the Dowager Countess and butler Mr. Carson are having some issues with the topsy turvy take on the British series. Carson just can't seem to get the Countess her tea, or crumpets, before they fall to the ceiling. Things get back to normal with she agrees to the change the name of the estate to Right Side Upton Abbey. Guest stars scheduled to appear in the 43rd season of "Sesame Street" include Kristen Bell, Jon Hamm, Matt...

Oh no, the cats versus dogs debate just got more fiery.  A video quickly gaining steam online shows a cat heroically chasing off a viscious dog after it attacks and drags away a young boy on a bike. "My Cat Saved My Son" is the title of the video that captured the attack yesterday.  The video already has the notorious "301+ views" YouTube tag, meaning it is quickly gaining eyeballs and that people love a good heroic cat.  According to the KERO news station in Bakersfield, Calif., the boy's mother said he needed a few stitches...

*** (out of four) “Hey, kids! Wouldn't you love to see a movie that touches on the early days of filmmaking? You might learn about how frames are spliced together to create an illusion on screen! And there's lots of steam coming out of pipes and trains. In 3-D!” Fine. So this dignified family adventure from Martin Scorsese - yes, that Martin Scorsese - doesn't scream “Huge hit with short-attention-span kids,” despite the presence of, uh, some fun-looking wind-up toys.

**1/2 (out of four) Smash together “Inception,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “The Thomas Crown Affair” with director Danny Boyle's (“Slumdog Millionaire”) typically pulsing style, and what do you get? Overstimulated, that's what. In the engrossing and silly heist thriller “Trance,” art auctioneer Simon (James McAvoy) can't seem to remember where he left a valuable painting. For good reason: During a robbery, Simon stashed the painting somewhere safe, but the subsequent head-bashing from lead criminal Frank (Vincent...

Keeper leagues are picking up steam in fantasy football, and I am a big fan of the concept. Here are three players you should consider hanging on to if you are in such a league, or consider drafting them in the early rounds next year. Alshon Jeffery, Bears wide receiver Jeffery is developing into a top-line wide receiver. After an injury-plagued rookie season, he's a big reason why the Bears have one of the best receiving corps in football. His stats are off the charts; two 200-yard receiving games, more than 1,100 receiving yards total and five touchdowns.
