Some Chicago residents should expect disruptions in the coming weeks as MTV shoots a new scripted dramatic series, titled 'Underemployed', throughout the city. In a slight departure from the network's usual reality series, the Chicago-based show will be shot in various Chicago locations through Aug. 10, according to the Chicago Film Office. Most recently, shooting took place in Wicker Park, but has since wrapped up. Other neighborhoods that have served as location, and will probably be revisited in addition to new areas, include Hyde Park, Lincoln Park, River North and the downtown area.

***1/2 (out of four) Even if you don't know the inimitable Stritch as the Tony- and Emmy-winning theater legend she is, you've seen her as Jack's mom on "30 Rock. " She's in her late 80s, but if she were any sharper the screen would tear. In the often-hilarious doc "Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me," the woman who picked up JFK and made Kirk Douglas fall in love with her represents a battle between the realities of aging and an unquenchable spirit. (The film suggests that even when Stritch's body fails her, her mind will go on forever.)

Judy Greer knows she's played the “best friend role” in what feels like countless romantic comedies. But she's not going to swear them off. “I see actors making decisions like, 'I don't want to do that anymore.' Like, 'I don't want to be on a television show anymore. I want to be a movie star,'” says Greer, whose new film, “The Descendants,” opens Nov. 18. “Then it's like they never do anything again, and you see them back on television.” Fortunately, the Michigan-raised DePaul grad - who has appeared in many films, including “27 Dresses” and “The Wedding Planner,”...

"Strike Back" is the smartest action thriller on TV. As was the case in the series' first season on Cinemax (it began on British TV), British counter-terror unit Section 20 faces down a world of evil-doers, wasting more baddies in one episode than Jack Bauer did in an entire season of "24. " But "Strike Back" is much more than well-choreographed firefights and blood-chilling terrorist atrocities. Where it truly excels is in showing the emotional costs paid by the super soldiers doing their jobs and by the witnesses and/or...

Growing up on Chicago's West Side, with family in K-Town and Humboldt Park, Anthony Sturdivant said his memories of friends and relatives killed by gun fire are all too typical. An answer to that question came to him in 2011, when he and two local videographers, Leon Kelsick and Dartise Johnson, decided to produce a series of anti-violence videos...
