When "Shameless" star Jeremy Allen White describes the Season 1 scene in which his character peed on his father, you have to wonder if the actor is sensitive - or demented. "It's kind of beautiful when the father steps out of the stream of urine and realizes, 'this is right,' and he steps back into it," the 20-year-old White, who plays Lip Gallagher in the Showtime series, said. "It's kind of romantic and beautiful in a way. I think he's taking it because he knows he did something terrible.

Dear Divvy, I think it's time we talked about our relationship. Wait, don't freak out, I'm not breaking up with you. It's just that Chicago Bike Week marked our four-month anniversary. As with any healthy partnership, sometimes it's good to take a step back and evaluate things. I remember being skeptical about you last year. A bike-sharing program administered by the city sound like another expensive boondoggle, much like ... well, don't get me started on parking meters. I also figured Chicagoans who want to pedal around the city already own a bike, and tourists would stick to goofy Segway...

I make considerably more money than my boyfriend. He makes a decent living too, but hasn't been nearly as ambitious in his career as I have been and has talked about wanting a new job for years. He says it doesn't bother him that I make more, but I think it does. I know he wouldn't want his friends to know and he still insists on paying for things. How can I make him feel better about this? And, sometimes I do judge him, not because he makes less money than me but that he hasn't tried to go farther in his career.

I am currently in a debate with my head and my heart on if I should rekindle my relationship with a recent ex. My heart says "Yes, go for it! He's amazing, wonderful, funny, sexy, smart, and your best friend!" Yet my head (and everyone including key family members around me) says "Hell no, what are you, nuts?!" We dated on and off for two years and have been off now for 5 months. I moved out, got promoted and have a great life going on. He has a house, a career and we always have the best time together.

I am wondering what I must do to make a relationship stronger. The story is that I met a person through another friend. I made my intentions known, but to no avail the first time. After a period of time, we met again, and this time he asked me to "play. " I was ready the first time we met, so of course, I enjoyed the encounter. Now I have called him, and he has eventually called me back, which made my day. We have even seen each other since, but I seem to be the one who wants a lot more to come of this.

We asked RedEye copy editor Megan Crepeau and special contributor Anthony Roberts to weigh in. YEP I'm losing my player card with this one, but I've got to be honest: Once you've found the person you want to be with, who completely holds your interest and you want to show up for, share the phone.

If you're in a committed same-sex relationship, you may be hoping for an end to laws prohibiting gay marriage. But in the meantime, there are some ways for LGBT couples to protect themselves and plan for their financial futures together, says a Chicago-based expert on the topic. "Depending on who wins this election, there is very polarizing potential for which way this could go," said Michael Collins, vice president in private wealth management for Robert W. Baird & Co. in the Loop.

**1/2 (out of four) Celeste (co-writer Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg) both put their fingertips on a tiny squeeze bottle of lip balm. They rub up and down and make sexual noises. After a little while, they squeeze the tube. You know what happens next. This is the epitome of an inside joke, the kind of thing that filters through the bloodstream of a relationship. These two still have no trouble laughing together. Yet for some reason the longtime sweethearts, who have been married for six years but separated six months...

Every year at the beginning of autumn, a phenomenon known as "cuffing season" begins. When the cold weather and prolonged indoor activity of the fall and winter months are around the corner, many single people are inspired to "cuff" a new partner. Cuffing season also marks the end of summer romances, whether because of two lovers going to different schools or because of irreconcilable Netflix-queue differences. No matter the season, we all know breakups are an unavoidable part of love.

I have developed separation anxiety for the first time in my life. In the 10 years I've been dating I've never been one to be overly attached to my mate. I mean I'm full of affection and miss my beloveds when we're apart but this time it's different. My man was recently away for seven days, and unreachable by phone, and in that time, when I wasn't fervently finding things to try to distract myself from the empty feeling he left me behind with, I was literally staring at the phone wishing it would ring.
