Bears 1, Mother Nature 0. Amid a swath of severe weather, the Bears had a chance to pull into a first-place tie in the NFC North on Sunday. All they had to do was beat struggling Baltimore, a team that only slightly resembled the reigning Super Bowl champ. Robbie Gould made sure that neither the Ravens nor the elements got the best of them, booting a 38-yard field goal in overtime to give the Bears a 23-20 win at Soldier Field. Detroit lost at Pittsburgh on Sunday, so both teams are now 6-4.  "My dad always says 'that thing's oblong and bounces funny,' so I think about that whenever this...

The Baltimore Ravens were safely hunkered down in the locker room, but Sunday's storm didn't stop one fan from taking the field for his team.  In a video posted to Facebook Sunday, a fan wearing a Terrell Suggs jersey rushes down from the north concourse, hops a railing and runs onto the field to loud cheers. Three security guards take the field to give chase, and he's taken out of bounds (and likely into custody) around the 50-yard line.  "HOLY SHIT," the post by Matt Marquardt on Facebook reads.

Good news, Bears fans, this weekend's NFC championship game won't end with Jay Cutler limping, er, standing around on the sidelines with a sour look on his face. He'll be doing that at home. Just kidding, Jay. Tell Kristin Cavallari I said hi. Such a cutie. Where was I? Oh, yes, the Bears-less NFL playoffs. This weekend, the Super Bowl matchup will be set. Two teams will earn a chance at NFL immortality - and maybe even score with Madonna. I'm sorry, that's just wrong.

There's an old saying that goes something like this: "You can't keep a good dog down. " Actually, that's a lie. But that's what it should be. Do not adjust your glasses or your monitor, folks, what you are seeing is indeed real. I'm back. After a couple of months shooting films in Hollywood, I have returned to Chicago and my RedEye roots. Actually, that's a lie too. The Hollywood part, not the RedEye part. And I'm back to doing what I do best. Predicting sporting events.

John Cusack  claims to have little in common with Edgar Allan Poe. But clad in an all-black outfit and answering questions thoughtfully between long drags of a cigarette in a lonely room deep in the bowels of McCormick Place during the recent Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo , Cusack could be a contemporary update of the tormented author whose Victorian-style cape the actor dons in"The Raven," opening Friday. That is, if he still had the jet-black goatee he grew for the role.

** (out of four) When a thriller features an author famous for a story about an incessantly beating heart, the movie has no excuse not to make viewers' chests pound, too. Sadly, “The Raven” turns a fictionalized take on the last days of Edgar Allan Poe's (John Cusack) life into a routine investigation of a serial killer, albeit one modeling his work after Poe's writing. “I believe the killer is taunting us,” says detective Fields (Luke Evans), since that's what detectives always say in this situation.

Baxter, did you eat that entire tub of ice cream in the freezer? We're not even mad, that's amazing. In an ode to Ron Burgandy and the upcoming Anchorman sequel, Ben and Jerry's has announced the release of Scotchy, Scotch Scotch, a limited-edition butterscotch overload flavor set to hit store shelves in the coming weeks. The flavor is a mix of butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch swirls, an homage to the fictional San Diego news anchor's spirit of choice. It follows several other batches that honor pop-culture icons, including Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream...
