*** (out of four) Call me a sucker, but “Thin Ice” played me like a violin. In fact, a violin holds together a situation that seems like a retread through minor indie territory covered recently by “Cedar Rapids” and “Win Win.” That is, until things spin toward “Before the Devil Knows You're Dead” and writers Jill (who also directed) and Karen Sprecher twist toward something clever, if a little strained. This week's episode is titled "All Adventurous Women Do. " Do what? Boogie board? Eat that day-old cake from out of the trash can when they're starving? Sit down on the No. 66 Chicago bus without checking the seat? No. All adventurous women apparently have HPV, according to the "slutty one" on the show.  Play along as we recap the latest episode of “Girls,” which included another very uncomfortable scene with the beast that is Adam in bed, as well as the hottest pick-up line ever of all time (says RedEye)

*** (out of four) I fell madly in love with the best scenes in “Like Crazy,” and there are several of them. So it's nearly as heartbreaking as the film itself to recognize that it's merely a good movie with some greatness in it.   To call the plot simple would be suggesting that relationships are simple, and the whole point of writer-director Drake Doremus' fourth film is that they're not. At least, not as simple as they should be,...

“Revenge” producer Mike Kelley is kind of a genius. I try not to throw that word around lightly, but the Winnetka native earns the praise for creating a must-see, damn-it's-not-on-this-week drama at 9 p.m. Wednesdays on ABC. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, but I feel no guilt at all enjoying it. Kelley's real genius - and I'm an idiot for not seeing this earlier but I was too preoccupied with all its soapy goodness - is that he's...

It was bound to happen.  Family Guy and The Simpsons, two of Fox's long-lived cartoon comedies, will join up for an hour long episode in September, the network announced Monday. The episode titled "The Simpsons Guy" will last a full hour, according to Zap2It . The plot of the episode has yet to be revealed, but based on a few screenshots released, it looks as though Family Guy's signature "chicken fight" sequences - in which Peter brawls with an oversized fowl - will be rehashed with Homer Simpson.  It's not the first time the Simpson's...
