The Pitchfork Music Festival announced its 2014 schedule Friday. The Union Park festival doesn't happen until July 18-20, but the Type A humans among us can go ahead and make a plan right now. Like we told you earlier,   Beck, Kendrick Lamar and Neutral Milk Hotel will be headlining and you can see other acts like Danny Brown, Pusha T and legendary disco producer Giorgio Moroder. Three-day passes are gone, so are Friday single-day tickets. But no fear, you can still get single-day passes for Saturday and Sunday.

This year's Pitchfork Music Fest (July 19-21) lineup is the best it's been in a long time, which comes at a cost: The inevitable scheduling conflicts. Here are the four biggest question marks posed by the Pitchfork schedule, announced Thursday: Friday Frankie Rose (3:20 p.m., Blue stage) vs. Daughn Gibson (3:30 p.m., Red stage) Do you want to begin your fest with something light and airy or a moody baritone? It's totally a matter of preference, and you really can't go wrong.

Like the rest of the world, Chicago has four seasons. However, that thing they call "spring" is a total myth, and we'd all love for "winter," aka Helm's Deep, to stick it where the sun don't shine. (Which is itself, so never mind.) But then there's fest season, those glorious months from June through September when cocktails are best drunk from a pineapple, the best music comes from a cover band and anything eaten off a stick is revered. It's why we Chicagoans spent the past for-ev-er clawing our eyes out in the manner of Edvard Munch's "The Scream.

Now that we know legendary duo Outkast will play at 40-plus festivals this spring and summer, we can reasonably guess that the likelihood we'll be seeing Lucious Left Foot and 3 Stacks in Chicago is high. Now, the only pertinent question that matters at this point is: Will Andre 3000 and Big Boi play Lollapalooza or Pitchfork? Both have their appeal, but let's break down the good and bad of both fests: AUDIENCE When it comes to audience, Pitchfork definitely is a more appealing option to catch a 'Kast show.

Stop what you're doing, take a deep breath, and absorb this news: R. Kelly a.k.a. The King a.k.a. Kelz a.k.a. the Poet Laureate of the People, will be one of the headliners at this year's Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park. The three-day festival announced its other two headliners today, including Bjork and Belle and Sebastian, but the real news here is that Chicago's prodigal son will be bumping and grinding onstage in Union Park this summer. It's the freakin' weekend indeed.

No use waiting to look ahead: 2013 and everything that comes with it is almost here, so the folks behind the Pitchfork Music Festival are giving you a chance to check something off your to-do list now. Beginning today, the fest offers a $95 three-day pass for the 2013 fest (July 19-21 in Union Park). None of the acts have been announced, of course, and the 2012 lineup was quite underwhelming, but $95 sounds a lot better than the $120 regular price that tickets will go for after the discounted ones sell out. Mine eyes have seen the glory. On July 21, the Pitchfork Music Festival will host its third and final day with a lineup that some are (OK, I am) calling the best day of live music Chicago has ever seen. Now, I'm sure there have been days where three or more awesome acts have played in succession in Chicago, but they probably happened before I was born and therefore don't matter. Let's break down the lineup and what you can expect from them. One-day ($50) and three-day passes ($120)

Be careful where you buy your Pitchfork tickets, festgoers. They could be fakes. The Chicago Police Department released an alert Thursday morning warning Chicagoans of counterfeit concert and sports event tickets turning up around the city--particularly for shows and games coming up this weekend. The alert said the tickets were sold over the Internet, usually via social media sites or classified sites. In each case, the victims did not realize they had purchased fake tickets until after paying for them.

***1/2 (out of four) I don't know how many artists have appeared naked on their debut album's cover, but it can't be very many. With a facial expression that says either “Why do things have to be so tough?” or “What are you doing in my shower?” Sky Ferreira's photo for her long-delayed “Night Time, My Time” presents not just physical vulnerability but an emotional openness that many young singers - cough, Selena Gomez - omit from their personality-free material. The approach matches Ferreira's startling...
