Philip Winchester's character, Sgt. Michael Stonebridge, has been wrestling some heavy demons in the new season of "Strike Back. " In the season premiere, he was forced to kill one of his Special Air Service trainees. The trainee's brother, former special forces soldier Craig Hanson, got his twisted vengeance by killing Stonebridge's wife. The murder pushed Stonebridge, as his Section 20 partner Sgt. Damian Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) said in the Aug. 31 episode, down a rabbit hole.

I've got some good news and some bad news, "Strike Back" fans. The action series will return for a fourth season in 2014, but it will be the show's final season. Cinemax announced the renewal Monday, adding that the 10-episode final season will film in Europe and, for the first time, in Asia, something co-executive producer, writer and director Michael J. Bassett hinted during San Diego Comic-Con. "We're going to go to Thailand," Bassett told me was on his wish-list. "I think we want to change the pallet and go to the East, go at a new enemy.

Spoiler alert: I believe fans on both sides of the Atlantic have now had a chance to see the season finale of "Strike Back," which aired on Cinemax in the U.S. But if you haven't, stop reading. Amanda Mealing expected strong fan reaction from the death of her character, Col. Eleanor Grant, in the season finale of “Strike Back.” Her two biggest fans had already seen it - and were “incensed,” she said. “My sons watched it the other day and they were saying, 'Mama, why didn't you wait for Scott to shoot?

Michael J. Bassett loves a moving target. As director, wirter and co-exec producer of "Strike Back," he's found two. Stars Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton do most of their own stunts for the Cinemax series, and Bassett cooked up some doozies for the next episode. "We've done stuff in Episode 9 which you're going to, I think, adore," Bassett told me at San Diego Comic-Con in July. "The show runs 46 minutes long and there's, I think, a 30-minute run of action. "It just doesn't stop.

How many actors would consider jumping out from a helicopter 49 feet to the roof of a 27-story building a perk of the job? Well, I can name three. "Strike Back" stars Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton and Liam Garrigan did just that for the scene above from the Season 2 finale airing Friday on Cinemax. ( See the photo here. ) "It's absolutely a perk of the job, yeah. And the fact that we get to do it is just bonkers," Winchester told me during a phone conversation Wednesday, adding that if the show was filmed in the U.S. or Britain, the...

The members of Section 20 are once again forced to consider the personal costs of doing their jobs in the latest episode of "Strike Back. " The team travels to Budapest in hot pursuit of Mairead McKenna (Catherine Walker), the IRA soldier who took out Major Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra) in Beirut. As you can see in the exclusive video preview (the second below), Col. Locke (Robson Green) tells the team that Section 20 will do what it can for Dalton's son, which earns this sharp response from Stonebridge (Philip Winchester)

Before Andrew Lincoln fought zombies in "The Walking Dead," he was fighting terrorists as the leader of the British counter-terrorism unit Section 20. Lincoln starred alongside Richard Armitage in "Chris Ryan's Strike Back," which aired in Britain in 2010 on Sky and led to the "Strike Back" currently airing its third season on Cinemax. Americans will finally get to see that original six-episode series that my British Twitter followers always bring up when Cinemax presents it as "Strike Back Origins" beginning at 9 p.m. CT Oct. 25, a week after...

It didn't take long for Chicago native Milauna Jemai Jackson to grab the attention of "Strike Back" fans. Maybe the folks who vote for Emmy nominations couldn't decide which clone character in BBC America's "Orphan Black" should have earned Tatiana Maslany an Emmy nomination. More likely, they simply snubbed a genre series once again. Maslany brilliantly embodied seven clones in the sci-fi conspiracy series, giving each character her own ticks, accent, attitudes and personality. She was rarely off screen, often playing opposite herself in a seamless trick of filmmaking. She won the Critics' Choice award for best dramatic actress.
