Lamorne Morris says everyone on "New Girl" breaks character while filming Fox's hit sitcom. But the Chicago native who plays even-keeled Winston cracks up the most. "Whenever Jake and Max have a conversation, I don't want to be in that scene. I'm ruining the take because it is so hysterical...," Morris said of his co-stars, Max Greenfield and Chicago native Jake Johnson, who with Morris play the three male roommates to Zooey Deschanel's quirky Jess. Morris said that the cast does get serious, and that's when he has to straighten up. "After Hour 14 [of filming]

Album review “G I R L” Pharrell Williams 3 stars   Holy cow, do I ever want Pharrell to collaborate with Janelle Monae! His just-released album, the funktaculicious “G I R L,” had me doing a mental shuffle-step-spin so hard, I felt like I was back in her 2013 album “The Electric Lady.” Actually, now I'm daydreaming about a mashup between his “Gust of Wind” (“With your love I can board the skies/Running away that electrifies/Mothership Other, can I stow away?

"New Girl" star Jake Johnson wouldn't object if romance bloomed between his character, Nick, and Zooey Deschanel's adorkable Jess in the hit Fox comedy. "If I happen to have a day of work lying in bed with Zooey Deschanel," he told RedEye during a stop in Chicago recently, "I mean, it is for work, and I'm a married man, but that's not a bad way to get paid for a day job. Just sayin'. " Johnson isn't the only person who would be OK with the pairing. The 32-year old Evanston native gets stopped on the street by fans insisting he break the seemingly endless...

With Fox's "New Girl" returning its third season, star and Chicago native Lamorne Morris recently visited RedEye to talk about the show and what's in store for Winston, Jess, Nick and Schmidt. More importantly, Morris talked about the origins of the drinking game True American, which the show's characters introduced to fans in Season 1. In the game, players must stand on chairs, tables, countertops or anything that keeps them off the floor, which has become molten lava. Through a series of commands, shouts, trivia or whatever else players invent, they move around...

If you don't watch FOX's "New Girl," you're doing yourself a disservice. Not as a TV watcher, but as a Bulls fan. Nick Miller (played by Evanston native Jake Johnson) reps so hard for the Bulls that he could easily be me or one of my friends. You may think that's ridiculous, but I once got into a fight with a guy in college because he said the '96-'97 Bulls were overrated. Loyalty is everything. Watch this clip from this week's episode where he breaks down for his girlfriend, Zooey Deschanel's character, why she can't root for...

Chicago TV viewers get their first look at Fox's new Chicago filmed and set drama, "The Mob Doctor," on Sept. 17, the network announced Monday. The series, about--you guessed it--a doctor for the mob, stars Jordana Spiro of "My Boys" fame as the titular doctor who is forced to work for the mob to pay off her brother's gambling debts and keep mobsters from killing him. Evanston native Zach Gilford ("Friday Night Lights") co-stars along with Floriana Lima, Zeljko Ivanek, William Forsythe, James Carpinello, Jaime Lee Kirchner, Jesse Lee Soffer and Wendy...

Don't get used to "The Goodwin Games," Fox's new comedy about three damaged siblings competing for their dad's $23 million estate. I don't think it will be around very long. It seems fairly obvious Fox isn't committed to the sitcom ( 7:30 p.m. CT May 20, Fox; 1.5 stars out of 3 ). The network pushed it from the fall 2012 schedule, then reportedly cut its 13-episode order to seven. Now it's burning off the episodes on Monday nights with repeats of "Raising Hope," "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project.

It's a freaking Tyrannosaurus Rex in the room, so great is the natural dynamic between these friends who are both seeing other people.
