Chicagoans may be serving up a side of aspirin with their holiday meals Thursday night, judging by the number of Black Wednesday parties happening across the city. Call it a Chicago tradition. Haven't heard of Masa Azul yet? You will. The little southwestern restaurant tucked away on a quiet stretch of Diversey in Logan Square has only been open a few months, but its already racking up bragging rights: Jenny Kessler, who designed the drink list and tends bar there, is RedEye's Best Bartender 2012. Kessler was named the winner at Wednesday's Best Bartender competition at Moe's Cantina River North after earning the majority vote from a combination of judges' scores as well as online and text votes from the audience and RedEye readers.

Not everyone has been on a great date, but we've all definitely been on bad ones. Ones that were so bad, they even left a sour taste in our mouths for the place we had the date at. This is a story about one of those dates.  --- I love Old Town Social . It's one of my favorite bars in the city, but after the first date with this guy, I'm not planning on heading back for a while--or at least until I can erase the memories of this date....
