*** (out of four) At some point in “Saving Mr. Banks,” which is inspired by the true story of Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) convincing author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) to license the film version of “Mary Poppins,” you may want to shout, “They said one spoonful of sugar, not two!” And, yes, it will help if you say that with the accent of an old British lady. A double dose of sweetness probably can be expected when the Walt Disney company makes a movie about the Walt Disney company making a movie.

If you are a fan of all things Disney , the the D23 Expo is the thing for you. The show is a weekend long affair celebrating everything associated with that Magical Kingdom. And now that the Disney Corporation has acquired both Marvel (Spider-Man, The Avengers) and Lucasfilm (Star Wars), the appeal of the brand is going to get even bigger. Now, I'm waiting to hear about the newest news out of Skywalker Ranch , but my ears did perk up when I caught wind of these new Disney Princess dresses that were created by some of the top fashion designers in the world.

Halloween parties are arguably some of the best in Chicago. There are plenty of elements that make them great, but the air of mystery in not having to completely reveal your identity is pretty exciting. Much debauchery ensues. Hungry for some fresh theater? The folks at Pavement Group, in collaboration with 20 high school students from Steppenwolf's Young Adult Council, are cooking up the fourth annual Amuse Bouche project - a sampler platter of five 15-minute plays.
