Chicago rockers Brain Vacation answered our Chi-Tunes questionnaire . Do the same and your band could appear in RedEye! What makes your live show great? For us, probably the part where we get drunk and play really loud music. For you, the fans, probably the part where you get drunk and hear really loud music. Seriously though, there's something to be said about the rawness and the spontaneity (mistakes) that can only come out in the live setting... er, come to think of it, our record has lots of mistakes too. Describe your sound in five words or less.

"Hey, Chicago? Does anyone have a hair tie?" It's not the sentence you'd expect Lorde to say in the middle of a show. Hey, even worldwide pop sensations need to get their damn hair off their necks. The 17-year-old New Zealand singer's sold-out Chicago debut at Aragon brought out fans whose ages ranged from "Where is your mother, young lady? It is far too cold to be out here in shorts and a crop top" to glum dads on pre-teen shuttle duty. The audience was overwhelmingly young and female; when opener Matthew Hemerlein (better known as Lo Fang)

Album review By Dana Moran | RedEye Sound Board“Pure Heroine” Lorde 3.5 out of 4 stars   Here's how I know Lorde is going to be HUGE. Her first single, “Royals,” is already No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and she hasn't even put out a full album yet. Oh, and she's 16. If you didn't know this going in, you might think Lorde - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor - was somewhere in the vicinity of 25, with a few successful records under her belt. The New Zealander's voice is gorgeous, smoky and mature, her songwriting devoid of any trace of fluff even though she's tackling...

If Lorde thinks sitting through a minor Bulls loss is stressful, she'd never survive baseball season. Lorde, the New Zealand star in town for a Chicago show Tuesday , tweeted in total astonishment at the Bulls game from the United Center Monday night. Calling it "live tweeting" is generous. There was no play-by-play or complaints about blown technical calls, just seemingly stunned observations of the spectacle of a game.  Maybe it was a needed escape. Her last tweet before the game (right after a mention of being in Detroit, ha)

Presented with minimal context:  We're not entirely sure what's going on here, but this Vine speaks volumes. Titled "PERFECT DATE = ELLIE GOULDING + LORDE = AARON PAUL SINGING FOR A KISS #strangers #theykissed," the Vine shows the trio of stars singing "kiss her!" in unison.  Were they strangers? Did they know each other? Is this yet another knockoff "First Kiss" video?  There's a lot of questions, but for now, just realize these two had a date -- or at the very least a random encounter -- that will be better than any you'll...

Thanks to a recent court ruling, same-sex couples in Cook County can now get married immediately rather than having to wait until June. And while that's an occasion for joy, sometimes enthusiastic interference from families and friends can lead to misunderstandings and awkward outcomes. Enter 4 Days Late, a Chicago comedy-theater ensemble best known for their reality TV parody, "Jersey Shore: The Musical," which ran for nine months in 2011-2012.
