Some Dominick's locations are offering a 50 percent sale Friday, ahead of the chain exiting the Chicago market.  The Dominick's in Lincoln Park at Fullerton and Sheffield confirmed Friday that items excluding liquor, dairy, produce and fresh meat are half-off.  A Reddit user posted the photo above, claiming to have saved more than $300 on his shopping trip. Half Acre 's announcement of a second location will come as good news to fans of Daisy Cutter, Heyoka and Over Ale. The North Center brewery said in a blog post Monday morning that they have purchased a second building at 2050 W. Balmoral Ave. just north of Lincoln Square in Bowmanville. California-based pizza company, Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, is bringing its two-minute pizzas to Chicago. With the help of its affiliate, Levy Family Partners, Blaze Pizza will develop 15 franchise stores in Chicago and 10 in Miami, with the first locations opening before the end of this year. The build-your-own pizza chain has quite a few competitors -- Giordano's, Lou Malnati's and Home Run Inn, to name a few -- in a city known for its pizzerias. Created by Elise and Rick Wetzel, who is also the founder of Wetzel's Pretzels, Blaze Pizza takes a faster approach to pizza prep.

Ever wondered if there is shady business going down at the massage parlor a few blocks away? In an article published Tuesday , Center Square Journal took a click through rubmaps.com (caution, link very NSFW), a site that allows users to review massage parlors and comment on alleged extra services that are not advertised on any menu. The site lists 70 locations throughout Chicago, where reviewers use a variety of colorful slang terms and abbreviations to describe alleged sexual favors at massage parlors throughout the city and suburbs.

Sprinkles Cupcakes and CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls" are teaming up to celebrate National Vanilla Cupcake Day on Nov. 10. From Nov. 1 to Nov. 15, Sprinkles locations nationwide are offering a limited-edition 2 Broke Not So Vanilla cupcake, including at Sprinkles Cupcakes Chicago location at 50 E. Walton. The 2 Broke Not So Vanilla cupcake has a graham cracker bottom and vanilla cake with chocolate chips, topped with dark chocolate frosting and a dash of fleur de sel and can be purchased for $3.50.

McDonalds is hoping you'll make it a McChristmas this year. The fast-food restaurant is urging its franchise owners to stay open on Christmas Day.  So, will they oblige and keep deep-frying all day on what is almost undeniably the most celebrated holiday in America? A company rep said that whether or not your neighborhood McDonalds will remain open is up to its owner. There is no official company policy; even corporate locations (the ones owned by McDonald's, not an individual franchise owner)

Skating at Millennium Park? So 2012. This year, for the first time ever, Office Max will host two free skating events at Soldier Field, which hasn't hosted a public skating event since the 1930s. Tickets will be given out at various Office Max locations throughout the city. A total of 3,000 passes will be made available to the public starting on Jan. 6. They'll be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to stop by early for your chance to skate at Soldier Field.

Game on, Logan Square. Wicker Park's Emporium Arcade Bar announced plans for a second location at 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave. tentatively scheduled to open in late spring. Though the new location will have the same "Emporium spirit," co-owner Dan Marks said the Logan Square spot will be larger and will focus on "table games" such as foosball, billiards, air hockey and shuffle puck. He sees a market for these type of games, citing the numerous phone calls Emporium receives asking whether they stock them.

Where should a Divvy bike station go? The city is asking Chicagoans to suggest places to put at least 175 more Divvy bike stations in 2014. On Tuesday, city officials and Divvy are planning to launch the website suggest.divvybikes.com in which users can pinpoint a location to add a station or comment on a suggested station location. A mysterious blog tipped us off this morning to the possibility that Nick Kokonas, Grant Achatz and the team behind cocktail spot The Aviary and restaurants Next and Alinea had a new project in the works. Bleeding Heart Bakery announced on its Facebook page that it is set to close Aug. 5. Logan Square hot dog stand Redhot Ranch is opening a second location in Lakeview this fall. Located at 3055 N. Ashland Ave., the second location will sell the same Depression Dogs,Vienna hot dogs wrapped with fries, and French-fried shrimp as the Logan Square original and 35th Street Red Hots, its sibling restaurant in Bridgeport. In addition, the larger space will permit a menu expansion that will include hamburgers in the style of West Coast chain In-N-Out Burger. “We're going to try to come as close to their burger as possible," said owner Barry Nemerow.
