But as our friends at Gapers Block pointed out Wednesday , Bath and Body works has a "Lake Shore Drive" scented candle for sale, and it smells like nothing but waxy goodness.  While we haven't lit one ourselves, the reviews on the site are all five-star.  " This candle smells so lovely!" reads one review. "In the description there is no mention of melon, but I really think it smells like one!"

RedEye is predicting heavy traffic on Lake Shore Drive Thursday night. President Obama will arrive at O'Hare International Airport at 5:50 p.m., according to NBC Chicago News . His helicopter will be landing near Montrose Harbor early Thursday afternoon, according to a newsletter from Ald. James Cappleman (46th), leading the city to close some sections of Lake Shore Drive. Drivers will need to steer clear of Lake Shore Drive on Sunday morning. Lake Shore Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic to allow cyclists to pedal for 30 miles all the way from Bryn Mawr Avenue to the north and 57th Street to the south for the MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive. The cost to register is $48 for the event, which is a fundraiser for the Active Transportation Alliance. Online registration closes at noon Saturday. If the event is not sold out, cyclists can register the day of the event for $58. The route opens at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Columbus and Jackson drives.

Segways are facing new rules when it comes to how many can be in a tour group, how fast they can go and where they aren't allowed. If more than three tourists are riding Segways in a tour group, they would not be allowed to go more than 8 miles per hour on the public way, under a proposed amendment introduced by Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) on Wednesday. No more than eight Segways would be allowed as part of a tour group, the proposal said. Call it one more reason to remember to wear a seatbelt. A suburban man was arrested early Tuesday morning when police officers pulled him over in his car for not wearing a seatbelt, only to discover thousands of dollars worth of drugs in his car. The Chicago Police Department announced plans to patrol Lake Shore Drive for drunk drivers over the weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol is slated to cover the Drive from 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday, according to an alert released today by the police department. The extra patrollers are slated to cover the length of the drive, from Hollywood Avenue in Edgewater to 92nd Street on the South Side, looking for drivers who appear to be intoxicated. They will also be issuing tickets to speed and seat belt violators.

To raise awareness about pedestrian and bicycle accidents on the busy Lakefront Trail along Lake Michigan, Friends of the Lakefront Trail is starting the "Share the Shore" initiative on Friday. The campaign is aimed at drawing attention to trail safety, stewardship and etiquette, according to a release. Friends of the Lakefront Trail will be handing out bottled water and cleaning up the Lakefront Trail at Oak Street Beach, North Avenue Beach and Fullerton Parkway on Friday as a way to spread word of the Share the Shore initiative.
