Millie Brown may not have become a household name last week when she performed at South By Southwest with Lady Gaga. Then the 27-year-old "vomit artist" showed off her gag reflex March 13 by puking numerous times all over Gaga during the singer's performance of "Swine.” "I wasn't expecting so many reactions from it," Brown tells elle.com . "It was quite a powerful performance. " And messy. But it fits in Brown's oeuvre . Her puke paintings - that's right, she regurgitates colorfully on canvas - sell for about $20,000 each, she tells Elle.

There's a saying in journalism called, "The Breakfast Test. " Basically, it means if an image would nauseate a reader as they eat the first meal of the day, perhaps that image shouldn't be circulated.  This does not pass the breakfast test.  At SXSW in Austin Thursday night, Lady Gaga took the Doritos #BOLDSTAGE (which is a real thing that exists) to perform "Swine. " About halfway through the song, a woman in a mesh shirt began gagging herself. She then proceeded to vomit colorful liquid all over Gaga, who seemed completely unphased.  Of course it was all part of the act. ...

I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. Let's just put that on the record. Lately, though, it doesn't seem like many Little Monsters care much about the pop star's new “ArtPop” either, if the album's apparent lack of buzz is any indication. Maybe people have tired of the intense message-peddling that makes Gaga seem like a product rather than a sincere icon for self-esteem and community. Maybe even fans have finally agreed that the gimmicky nature of an artist who, say, plans to perform in space in 2015 is all a big ruse to distract from the weakness of the material.

No matter how famous, rich or adored you become, apparently you can still be insecure. Just ask Lady Gaga. The "Born This Way" singer confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that in her upcoming HBO special, "Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour" airing May 7, she did indeed call herself a loser. "Well, in that moment I was very excited and nervous," Gaga said. "That is a huge benchmark moment in my life. I'm 25 years old [and] I was asked to play Madison Square Garden. Sold out five nights and, quite frankly, it's very overwhelming.

After both attending Wednesday's Kanye West show at United Center, we decided to do a written version of "Good or what?" Here's the email conversation that ensued. MP: Ernest, I feel like every show I attend lately has a Nickelodeon “GUTS”-style mountain and women in body stockings elevating the artist toward the sky. I mean, do something different, people.   OK, no. Wednesday's Kanye West show at United Center was unusual, strange, fun, unsettling, captivating and challenging all at once.

Remember the duet all pop stars used to have back in the '90s? You know, the one where you would have two world-class talented singers just belting “WHOOOOOAAAAAYEAAAHHH” at each other for four minutes? Then it immediately sold 2 million copies and got nominated for a bunch of Grammys they'd lose to Celine Dion? The new Lady Gaga single “What Do U Want” (featuring R. Kelly) reminds me of those. Matter of fact, the song is so '90s that I had the following thoughts, in order: ”Damn, this sounds like the video would cost a lot of money.
