On the final day of the 2014 NFL draft, Michael Sam sat in his agent's San Diego, Calif., home, waiting for a call that would change his life. The draft has been televised for years, with camera crews waiting to catch the almost-certain emotional moment when NFL hopefuls are chosen. Most of the time, these celebrations are filled with kissing and affection, played over and over as experts analyze the players' futures. Michael Sam's moment was no different -- when he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, he got emotional and kissed his boyfriend, just like his fellow picks did with their girlfriends.

Amanda Tapping kissed, and now she's finally telling. Earlier this week I chatted by phone with the "Sanctuary" star and producer about the upcoming two-part Season 4 finale, but before we talked about "Sanctuary for None," I just had to ask about "Monsoon," the season's fourth episode. And that controversial kiss between her character, Dr. Helen Magnus, and the very attractive scientist Charlotte Benoit (Sandrine Holt). "I just thought it was a nice kiss … I don't think we were trying to push any buttons particularly,” Tapping said from Vancouver on Tuesday.

Presented with minimal context:  We're not entirely sure what's going on here, but this Vine speaks volumes. Titled "PERFECT DATE = ELLIE GOULDING + LORDE = AARON PAUL SINGING FOR A KISS #strangers #theykissed," the Vine shows the trio of stars singing "kiss her!" in unison.  Were they strangers? Did they know each other? Is this yet another knockoff "First Kiss" video?  There's a lot of questions, but for now, just realize these two had a date -- or at the very least a random encounter -- that will be better than any you'll ever have.  Want more?

Zachary Levi tweeted about it Sunday, but now we have proof. He and Betty White did make out at her star-studded 90th birthday party. "Soooooo, I may have just made out with Betty White. This is not a joke. #bucketlist," Levi tweeted. In the first clip above, you see the "Chuck"star, complete with faux hawk, doing his comic bit for White during "Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl," which will air on NBC at 7 p.m. Jan. 16. He tells her he wants to marry her, shows her a ring and a prenup, and says he needs an answer soon so he can...

Doctor Who gets a kiss from his new companion in the latest trailer for this year's Christmas special, titled "The Snowmen. " Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, and the Doctor (Matt Smith) set off on their first adventure together as they attempt to save Christmas from Doctor Simeon and his army of scary snowmen. It isn't clear if Clara is somehow related to Oswin, Coleman's character in the "Asylum of the Daleks" episode, but I have a sneaking suspicion she is. "She is from the Victorian era and a mysterious one," Coleman says in a BBC America...

Competition lingered large in the hair on this week's "Bachelor," as the eyes became starrier, the sighs got heavier and the claws grew longer. Starting with an ominous Kacie B. voiceover along with a shot of an ambulance, it was sure to be a cold, dangerous reminder of the champagne-soaked, high-stakes reality of the "Bachelor" fantasy. Sean Lowe reveals that he is "finding himself... (long pause)... really digging a lot of women. " Cool it with the lewdness, Sean, it's really getting old. Learn to contain yourself.

Judy Greer knows she's played the “best friend role” in what feels like countless romantic comedies. But she's not going to swear them off. “I see actors making decisions like, 'I don't want to do that anymore.' Like, 'I don't want to be on a television show anymore. I want to be a movie star,'” says Greer, whose new film, “The Descendants,” opens Nov. 18. “Then it's like they never do anything again, and you see them back on television.” Fortunately, the Michigan-raised DePaul grad - who has appeared in many films,...

Hollywood got it right on Sunday, as Adam Sandler picked up a record 11 Razzie nominations. Congratulations, Adam, you deserve it! Oh, right, the Oscars. As expected, "The Artist," the best picture nominated for best picture, took home the top prize at the 84th Academy Awards, as well as best director (Michel Hazanavicius) and best actor (the immensely likable Jean Dujardin). That left George Clooney empty-handed, going home with only a lovely gold trophy by the name of Stacy Keibler.

Since the evening culminates with a lip-lock countdown, New Year's Eve celebrations require a look that's first-and-foremost kissable. We consulted Chicago makeup pros Adriana Aude and Traci Fine on creating a stand-out New Year's pucker that's so 2014. BRIGHT AND BOLD Aude's favorite off-ther unway trend for lips this winter is a matte orangey red. The adventurous choice looks flattering on any skin tone and it's special enough for New Year's. "When it gets closer to the holiday season, people want to be glamorous," Aude said.

** (out of four) It's tough to forget Saoirse Ronan's three 2013 stinkers for long during “How I Live Now,” which in its first 15 minutes features her character blabbering in voiceover (“The Host”), insisting on being called Daisy (“Violet and Daisy”) and being asked if she's a vampire (“Byzantium”). That's almost too coincidental to be a coincidence. “How I Live Now” registers as the best of the lot, but that's faint praise. Grumpy, anti-social Daisy (Ronan)

2.5 out of 4 When the Weeknd first crept up a couple years ago, the group, which soon would consist only of Abel Tesfaye, chose the route of enigmatic Internet mystique. Tesfaye hid his face and didn't talk much. He didn't really have to - between three popular mixtapes and a Drake co-sign, the hype took care of itself, though he remained shrouded. His music - lurchy R&B that lent itself better to leaned-out night moves than any real kind of dancing - was just as uneasy, with haunting lo-fi production and vocals.

Justin Flieth keeps a close watch on his charcoal grill whenever it's lit on the porch of his apartment building. He makes sure to keep it on the cement of the ground floor when it's out. But the 24-year-old Albany Park resident can't say the same for his neighbors, who have a large gas grill and host parties almost every Saturday. "I think the city should put constraints on using grills on wood porches," Flieth said. "Not everyone's going to be a safe griller. " Porch grilling may be a popular pastime in Chicago, but it's also a dangerous one. Last month, a porch fire in Lakeview spread to the levels...

**1/2 (out of four) There was something about “Call Me Maybe,” as it slowly crept its way to universally beloved hit status, that made people assume its singer Carly Rae Jepsen was destined for the dreaded ranks of one-hit wonders. Whether it was a result of the song's total cultural dominance, the fact that it seemed out of touch with other chart trends or just due to Jepsen's blank slate personality as a completely unknown artist, there was rampant doubt that the Canadian pop star could ever again replicate its success.

Over the holidays, I became an ordained minister and married my friends Megan and Eric. Now I assume that any regular reader of this column will ask herself: What kind of self-loathing, mentally unhinged bride and groom would ask Stephen Markley to stand in front of all of their friends and family and say whatever he felt like - no edits, no second opinion, no notes - on the most important day of their lives?
