There is something about the lemming-like quality of the public discourse that renders presidential debates into these circular talking point showdowns in which not much is illuminated and nothing important challenged. Here following are some obvious questions about the great challenges of our times that one of those “undecided voters” or, you know, a professional journalist could or should have asked Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. • Governor Romney, do you believe that human activity is causing climate change?

Ald. William Burns (4th), 39 Three city issues that should be on our radar : social services, poverty, and economic development. Is being young on the City Council an advantage or disadvantage? I think that being young is an advantage. I approach challenges and people with a fresh perspective. The job also requires a tremendous amount of energy -- as a freshman alderman, I don't have as many staffers at my disposal as committee chairmen do, so I end up writing letters to constituents and working along side my staff.
