Ever since he was earning acclaim as a young theater actor in Chicago, Harry Lennix has never rested on his laurels. His strong work ethic has served the South Side native well over a career in which he's succeeded in theater, movies and on the small screen starring in "Dollhouse," "24," "Commander in Chief" and now "The Blacklist. " The NBC thriller, airing at 9 p.m. CT Mondays, began with longtime fugitive Raymund "Red" Reddington (James Spader) turning himself in to the FBI with a promise to cooperate in catching terrorists and other criminals, but only as long as he...

If you're a Millennial with a new gig or are starting a summer internship, there's a good chance there soon will be a co-worker in your immediate vicinity from Generation X, Y or Z. Three ways of identifying them: They're closer in age to your parents, they print out emails before reading them and Duran Duran emanates from the Beats headphones they got from their kids last Christmas. It is also very likely that you'll report to this person in some way,  and they can control whether your career gets off to a good start.

Don't call it a danceoff. On Saturday, 16 break dancers from across the country will converge on Chicago to face off in the Red Bull BC One U.S. qualifier at the Aragon Entertainment Center. The competition, in its second year, hopes to find the nation's best b-boy (break dancer) through four rounds of intense one-on-one dance battles. B-boy EVOL, born Ernesto Castelo, will represent Chicago in the competition. He was eliminated during the first round last year, but the 27-year-old Chicago-area native has been preparing for a better showing this time around.

As kids, many of us sat around with our friends and talked about what we wanted to be when we grew up, and we all had such huge dreams. Yet somewhere along the way, many of us traded in our dreams for something we consider to be more practical. Why? Almost everyone I know hates his or her job. It seems they all have aspirations to do something creative but are too afraid to go for it. I don't get it. At what point do we go from believing we can do anything we dream of to settling for a job that pays the bills?

Fitz & the Tantrums frontman Michael "Fitz" Fitzpatrick will always remember the group's first trek to Chicago, since the sextet arrived in town for a show at Metro just one day after the epic February blizzard that brought the city to a standstill. "When we pulled up they were literally just pulling the cars off Lake Shore Drive," says the singer. At this point, the weather might be the only thing that can cool off the Los Angeles soul revivalists, who were named Hot Band in a recent issue of Rolling Stone and are currently gearing up to...

Something this election year really disturbs me. It's not the super PAC spending or that Mitt Romney hasn't released 10 years' worth of tax returns. (What are we supposed to find out? That he's rich?) It's that a guy's American success story is now being used against him. Any other time, a guy like Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, would be admired as a great example to follow. After receiving a juris doctorate and a master's of business administration, he became a financial success by building an investment company from the ground up. He then went...

19-year-old Englewood rapper Lil Durk has been gathering buzz in Chicago since last year's mixtape "I'm A Hitta," but his April release, " I'm Still a Hitta ," with its standout single, " L's Anthem ," generated enough attention to land him a deal with Def Jam less than a month later. We caught up with Durk while he was out in LA just before signing his deal to discuss the New Chicago scene and find out how far-flung its fans are. Are you recording out there? Actually I'm going with different producers down there.

It would be easy for Dwyane Wade to forecast a second straight NBA title in 2013 for his Miami Heat. After all, the ballyhooed Big Three of him, LeBron James and Chris Bosh are coming off a season that saw them advance to their second Finals in as many seasons together before knocking off Oklahoma City. However, when RedEye offered him that bait, Wade refused to take it. "I'm not a predictor because you never know what's gonna go from one day to the next," he said, shaking his head.

Thunder, lightning, three overtimes, late nights, I'm exhausted. It this sounds like a typical week in my sexy nightlife, but please. A simple request. Let's wrap these up a little earlier please! Seriously, I'm exhausted! Some of us have to work in the morning! I got yelled at for dozing off at my desk! So thanks, Andrew Shaw, for the game winner. Next time, slap one in during regulation. In fact, note to all players: That's really what regulation is for. It's to decide the game.

Gabriel Dominguez is awfully calm for a man whose office at Southport Lanes in Lakeview is a claustrophobic's worst nightmare: 10 feet long and slightly wider than an average person's wingspan. It also features a rather unusual occupational hazard. "I am ready for the ball," he said confidently. Seconds later, it becomes apparent why. A dull hum quickly becomes the roar of a train engine before crescendoing in a violent collision that sends a bowling ball flying into a back wall and pins scattering in its wake.

Chad Michaels was the ultimate perfectionist on "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. " Never a hair or scrap of costume out of place, makeup flawless and demeanor regal, the Cher impersonator and long-time drag star came in second during his season but finally took home the crown during the finale of "All Stars," which aired Monday night on Logo. RedEye got the chance to speak with Chad the morning after the big win, and as expected, more compliments than shade was thrown, and he overflowed with gratitude and good will.
