Fans of "Justified" have a solid date to return to Harlan County: Jan. 17. FX announced its mid-season schedule Monday, opening with the Season 3 premiere of the neo-Western "Justified" on Jan. 17. The animated spy comedy "Archer" will begin its third season two days later on Jan. 19, and will be paired with a new animated comedy called "Unsupervised. " "Justified" ended its second season with Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) going back to his illegal ways by making a play for the Bennett clan's criminal enterprises, and thus putting him in conflict with his old buddy, U.S....

If you weren't among the 4.7 million people who watched the Wednesday airings of FX's new spy thriller "The Americans," the network is making it available right here (and on Hulu and any other site that wants to embed it). The 9 p.m. CT Wednesday premiere drew 3.22 million total viewers, and after combining that with encore airings Wednesday FX came up with the combined 4.7 million total viewers. The first airing outperformed the premiere of "American Horror Story" in total viewers (3.18 million)

And now from the "been-there, done-that" department: A couple of scrawny, virginal teens with no parental supervision dream of becoming "cooler than hell" and, of course, getting laid. That's the concept behind FX's new animated sitcom "Unsupervised" ( 9:30 p.m. Thursday, FX; 1.5 stars ). It should sound familiar, what with "Beavis and Butt-head" back on MTV and "Napoleon Dynamite" recently launching on Fox, not to mention just about a million movies on the subject. If "Unsupervised" creators Rob Rosell, Scott Marder and...

Dogs are supposedly man's best friends--unless the dog's name is Wilfred. And he is really a man in a dog costume. And he likes to mess with you. The latest teaser for Season 2 of FX's comedy "Wilfred" shows Ryan (Elijah Wood) getting advice from both a devilish and angelic version of his canine cohort Wilfred (Jason Gann). You'd think they'd be making opposite arguments--but not on this series. "Go on, Ryan, give 'em a lick," the Wilfreds tell Ryan as he brushes his teeth.

I wasn't familiar with Jim Jeffries' standup before popping in my screener of his new comedy, "Legit" ( 9:30 p.m. Thursday, FX; 3.5 star out of 4 ). Now I want to check it out. "Legit" is legitimately and simultaneously raunchy, sweet and funny. Aussie standup comic Jim (played by Aussie comic Jeffries, who created and writes the show) is struggling to make it in L.A. while carving out time for sex with strangers, phone conversations with his mom back in Australia and convincing his gameless roomie, Steve (Chicago's Dan Bakkedahl)

If you've been around long enough to remember the 1980s, you know it wasn't just about Madonna, parachute pants and big hair. In 1981, just after Ronald Reagan became president and called the Soviet Union the "evil empire," tensions between the two countries were at an all-time high. The Cold War was freezing, with mutual paranoia fueling an arms race and unleashing spies on both sides. "The Americans" ( 9 p.m. CT Jan. 30, FX; 3 stars out of 4 ), the exciting but frustrating spy thriller from former CIA employee and writer-executive...

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys have begun filming "The Americans" for FX in Brooklyn. I'm looking forward to the series, a Cold War spy drama set in the 1980s and scheduled to premiere in January 2013. It comes from "Falling Skies" producer Joe Weisberg, a former CIA agent who became an author and TV producer. Graham Yost, creator of FX's excellent "Justified," and Joel Fields are also executive producers with Amblin Television honchos Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. "The Americans" is produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions.

We all deal with certain amounts of stress in our lives. How we cope, though, sets us apart. "I probably smoke too many cigarettes, which isn't a very good thing," said Elijah Wood, best known for playing Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings" movies. "I don't have any extraordinary sort of coping mechanism. I certainly don't talk to a dog. " That's exactly what his character does in "Wilfred," the unapologetically bizarre FX comedy that premieres at 9 p.m. June 23. Wood plays Ryan, a suicidal guy who strikes up a relationship with his...

Don't let his name fool you: Chris Tickle doesn't plan on making people laugh. He wants to hurt them. Tickle, of Pontiac, Ill., grew up the "tough guy" in the town about 100 miles southwest of Chicago. That reputation eventually led the 29-year-old to mixed martial arts. Now, with 19 MMA fights under his belt, Tickle is taking the next step in his career and trying to break into the UFC. He's getting that chance on the FX reality competition "Ultimate Fighter Live," premiering Friday.

The carpetbaggers won't be running Raylan Givens out of Harlan County any time soon. FX has ordered a 13-episode fourth season of "Justified. " The network made the announcement Tuesday prior to the premiere of the eighth episode of Season 3, called "Watching the Detectives. " In it, Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and Harlan bad boy Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) are set up by one of those carpetbaggers, Robert Quarles (Neal McDonough).  New episodes air at 9 p.m. Tuesdays.
