Lorne Malvo, Billy Bob Thornton's sinister hitman in "Fargo" (9 p.m. April 15, FX; 3.5 stars out of 4), doesn't have doubts. He doesn't ask himself the question posed on a poster in the FX series' first episode: "What if you're right and everyone else is wrong?" His answer, unequivocally, is "I'm always right. " (I really like this guy.) Lorne's confidence makes him a singular character in the 10-episode limited series - a man with a plan and the cojones to carry it out. Thornton is phenomenal in the role, stealing every scene he's in and making "Fargo" a captivating pleasure from the moment he appears.

Matthew Rhys was slightly hesitant to play a Soviet spy working undercover in the U.S. on FX's "The Americans. " "I'm not the big, macho, butt-kicking person," the Welsh actor said, "but I think as a cover we work well in that we blend into Americana suburbia, and therefore there's a sort of twist to it. " The "we" of which Rhys speaks is Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, the married spies played by Rhys and Keri Russell. He needn't have worried. The 1980s drama garnered critical acclaim and audience approval in its first season, and its Season 2 premiere at 9 p.m....

And now from the "been-there, done-that" department: A couple of scrawny, virginal teens with no parental supervision dream of becoming "cooler than hell" and, of course, getting laid. That's the concept behind FX's new animated sitcom "Unsupervised" ( 9:30 p.m. Thursday, FX; 1.5 stars ). It should sound familiar, what with "Beavis and Butt-head" back on MTV and "Napoleon Dynamite" recently launching on Fox, not to mention just about a million movies on the subject. If "Unsupervised" creators Rob Rosell, Scott Marder and...

Dogs are supposedly man's best friends--unless the dog's name is Wilfred. And he is really a man in a dog costume. And he likes to mess with you. The latest teaser for Season 2 of FX's comedy "Wilfred" shows Ryan (Elijah Wood) getting advice from both a devilish and angelic version of his canine cohort Wilfred (Jason Gann). You'd think they'd be making opposite arguments--but not on this series. "Go on, Ryan, give 'em a lick," the Wilfreds tell Ryan as he brushes his teeth.
