On the evening of April 5, the Underground--which calls itself the "sexiest night club in Chicago"--was even sexier than usual. Factor Models wearing bright colors and prints strutted down the runway in the opening fashion show of the celebrity hangout 's second annual Style Series. The event kicked off a month-long themed fashion show series at the club, with plans for an April 19 British-inspired show (sophisticated looks mixed with "London punk") and an April 26 swimwear event, all styled by the founder of local shopping resource Garmental.com , Suzanne Kopulos.

If there has ever been a market that goes underestimated, in my opinion it's the female market. It baffles me why some companies insist on ignoring women, especially when it comes to typically "geeky" things like toys, science fiction/fantasy books and movies. (If you wanna start an argument over this, just ask a female "Star Wars" fan about how many action figures they have and whether they mind that there are hardly any female characters produced. And when there is one, it's usually the "Slave Leia" figure that gets the spotlight.)

Well, this should be interesting. Because I say yes to just about everything that involves alcohol, up to and including date rape, I guess I'll be appearing in the Style Series 2012 Hyper Local fashion show sponsored by Rockit Ranch Productions and Garmental.com this Thursday at 9 p.m. This is, it appears, where local Chicagoans model - yes, I said “model” - a “spring line-up” from local fashion designers at a party in The Underground....

The Chicago fashion scene isn't short of talent, and one of its young standouts is giving a lucky bidder a unique look at the industry through the eyes of a designer. Local designer Anna Hovet has teamed up with United Arlines' Mileage Plus Program to give the highest bidder a behind-the-scenes look into the work of an independent designer and Chicago's fashion week, Fashion Focus Chicago. "It's pretty cool that they're highlighting me," Hovet said. "I'm really not that cool, but the people from United said, 'We're going to make you look...

Fashionistas watch her critique celebrity styles on E!'s "Fashion Police. " And she just had her not-quite-so scandalous E! "True Hollywood Story" air on Sunday. Now, Giuliana Rancic will be back for Season 5 of the Style network's "Giuliana & Bill," which premieres at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The couple sat down last week in their favorite corner booth at their recently opened River North restaurant RPM Italian to chat about what viewers can expect to see this season, including the revelation that Giuliana has breast cancer.

Expect style emergencies, celebrity A-list cameos and above all, high fashion. And yes, even baby couture onesies. Rachel Zoe, the famous stylist-cum-designer, is back for another season of "The Rachel Zoe Project," which premieres 8 p.m. CT March 6 on Bravo. She tries hard to balance both of her babies--her fedora and bloomer-wearing son Skyler ("Sky-Sky" for eyeroll) and her iffy fashion line. But it's her other lines, from "having a moment" to "I die," that make the show a fashion don't.

Manny confidently strutted down the hallway of the Tribune Tower. When he got to RedEye's offices, he was greeted by a number of staffers rushing up to him, snapping iPhone photos and gushing over him. If you don't know, Manny is a kind of a big deal. This 22-pound well-behaved French bulldog named after boxer Manny Pacquiao is even the head of his own Chicago-based company. He sells t-shirts with his face on them. On this day, he was ready for his photo shoot and modeled costumes he might wear to his #MonsterCute Halloween...

This year is Nick Cave's last as chair of the School of the Art Institute Fashion Show. As part of the school's fashion-design faculty, he spent the past seven years mentoring sophomore, junior, and senior design students to create garments that reflect a particular point of view. And he doesn't make it easy for them. "We've got to give them a bit of the rigorous behaviors that exist in the world of fashion and design, " Cave said. "You have to be able to work at a particular level.
