Some of my fondest memories of my early single years (notice I said “early”) in Chicago have to do with the holidays, when my friends and I would get together and not only drink, but make Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Those get-togethers always were enjoyable and sometimes uncomfortable - I'm thinking specifically of the time I accidentally eavesdropped on some rather loud sex being had in the bedroom next to the pantry where I was trying to sleep. Anyway, a friend introducing a new boyfriend or girlfriend into the group also could cause strange,...

Not even "Arrested Development" creator Mitchell Hurwitz can recommend whether fans should binge-watch the 15 new episodes debuting on Netflix this weekend, or spread out their viewing over several days or weeks. "I joked recently that I thought 30 seconds a day for three years would be the best way to enjoy it," he said during a call with reporters Thursday. "I'm going to stand by that statement. " Hurwitz, like star Jessica Walter, will be sleeping when the episodes go live at 2:01 a.m. Central time May 26. Walter, who plays boozy Bluth matriarch Lucille and also was on...

Sex, murder, intrigue - and the tiniest bit of religion - have made a successful cocktail for Showtime. The network has picked up "The Borgias" for a second season. "The Borgias" tells the real-life tale - totally fictionalized, however - of Rodrigo Borgia, a cunning cardinal who became Pope Alexander in the 15th century. Jeremy Irons appears to be having an awfully fun time playing the Pope, chewing the beautiful scenery to bits. The series has been attracting at least 1 million viewers for the debut airing of each new episode.

**1/2 (out of 4) At its core, "Gang Related" is a story about conflict. Like the Martin Scorsese blockbuster "The Departed," the new Fox series (premiering Thursday) is a story of a cop with family ties to crime. Ryan Lopez (Ramon Rodriguez), an officer assigned to an elite unit, is linked to the Acosta crime family - the same one he's supposed to be taking down. The first four episodes have a cinematic quality I couldn't help but compare to 2012's "End of Watch. " The casting is solid - especially "Lost" alum Terry O'Quinn as unit captain...

It was bound to happen.  Family Guy and The Simpsons, two of Fox's long-lived cartoon comedies, will join up for an hour long episode in September, the network announced Monday. The episode titled "The Simpsons Guy" will last a full hour, according to Zap2It . The plot of the episode has yet to be revealed, but based on a few screenshots released, it looks as though Family Guy's signature "chicken fight" sequences - in which Peter brawls with an oversized fowl - will be rehashed with Homer...

Maggie Q charmed everyone at The CW's 2010 Upfront presentation with her sweet, funny introduction of her first TV series, "Nikita. " At the time, Q had appeared in mostly action films, and rarely in a lead role. She was new to TV, and new to being the center of attention in a room full of executives, advertisers and oh-so-many young, gorgeous stars. "They threw me on stage and I didn't know what the hell to do or what to say in this room full of very serious people, you know," she said during a recent phone interview.

There's a line in Pulp Fiction where Samuel L. Jackson 's character Jules talks about how he doesn't get to eat cheeseburgers all that much because “my girlfriend is a vegetarian so that makes me a vegetarian.” Well, that same principal applies to Halloween when it comes to me and my dog Banky. Halloween is by far, my favorite holiday, so of course that makes it Banky's favorite holiday too. I would like to think that she rather enjoys it too, since whenever I take her trick-or-treating dressed in costume, the kids all want to pet her and the parents fawn over her. And there's always...

Two years ago, the trailblazing digital series "Husbands" turned the newlywed sitcom on its head by focusing on two gay men in love who were presented, without apology, in all their stereotypical glory. (It also predicted the legalization of gay marriage and the public coming out of a professional athlete.) Strip away those highbrow accomplishments, however, and "Husbands" remains a success simply because it's funny and wildly entertaining. So it's little surprise that The CW snapped up the comedy to help launch its new...
