It's not just you - the Bears and Philadelphia really have played each other an awful lot despite being in different divisions. They've crossed paths in the regular season the past four seasons, and each game has been decided by five points or fewer. Sounds like a perfect recipe for a rivalry. As the Bears (4-3) and Eagles (3-4) prepare to bump heads again Monday, here's what their most recent meetings have brought to the table.   Nov. 28, 2010: Bears 31, Philadelphia 26 Key ingredient: Validation The Bears had their share of doubters leading up to this game despite...

Win and they clinch the NFC North. That was the situation for the Bears heading into Sunday night's game at Philadelphia after both Green Bay and Detroit lost earlier in the day. The message must not have gotten to their locker room, though, because the Bears looked downright awful in a 54-11 blowout loss. That means the winner of Sunday's season finale against Green Bay at Soldier Field is going to the playoffs. But before we can look ahead, let's take a look back at the Bears' "performance" against the Eagles.

Already a destination for whiskey and cocktail fans, Logan Square's Longman & Eagle now has even more room to accommodate dark spirits devotees. The Off Site Bar is a 150-square-foot "micro bar" in a former garage adjacent to the restaurant's back patio. It has its own menu with similar spirits, beers and cocktails to those at Longman & Eagle proper. The funky, casual decor extends to the micro-bar as well, with motorcycle accessories, speakers and plenty of wood throughout the small space.

Sometimes, life imitates art. Other times, art just seems to mirror pop-culture. Though the "Eagle Columns" sculpture has been a fixture in Lincoln Park for more than two decades, one could be forgiven currently for suggesting the abstract birds perched above Jonquil Park seem to bear a resemblance to the iconic "Mockingjay" symbol of "The Hunger Games," opening this week. The fictional, sharp-beaked bird is depicted in metallic clutching an arrow and surrounded by a ring on the book cover of the first installment of the teen adventure trilogy.

*** (out of 4) You've probably never heard of the band Eagle Claw. And you've probably never heard the Austin, Texas, band's music. I hadn't either until I stumbled across them the other day on Spotify (see, record labels, you can discover music when it's free). Now, I'm glad I did. The four-piece specializes in a bruising form of post-rock that is probably most aptly described as "instrumetal," a term that has been used to describe bands like Pelican and Russian Circles but is perfect for this truly metal band.

Michael Vick is turning heads lately, thanks to his (usually) outstanding play. He's also still a polarizing figure, thanks to his dogfighting conviction and the prison sentence that followed. Forbes.com reported Monday that Vick is the NFL's most disliked player, according to a poll by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research. The website reports that 60 percent of those polled said they “dislike,” “dislike somewhat” or “dislike a lot” the Philadelphia quarterback. Joining Vick on the list is Jay Cutler (No. 5, 38 percent)

Empty Bottle's Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, of Space in Evanston, are currently prepping their newest venture, The Promontory (1539 E. 53rd St.), for an early 2013 opening. Finkelman - who is also behind Logan Square's Longman & Eagle , a bar-restaurant-hotel hybrid that serves up contemporary American treats such as Kentucky fried quail and roast leg of venison - is keeping quiet about many of the details, including the style of cuisine The Promontory will serve. He did confirm that the owners are currently renovating the building and the space will offer live music events...
