"Comedown Machine" will release March 26. If that doesn't mean anything to you, consider this: It'll be the fifth record from The Strokes. The name of the album and an image of its cover were discovered serendipitously yesterday by a Reddit user. The user was working with the band's website code, and after some time, he found the code of the album cover, making the refreshingly simple cover art visible. The Strokes may have wanted to keep details of the album cover a secret, but they did release the first track on Soundcloud.

Ashland Avenue will get a dedicated center bus lane in each direction for express bus service between 95th Street and Irving Park Road, the CTA and Mayor Rahm Emanuel will announce today. This is the first step in bringing bus rapid transit, service that typically relies on traffic signal priority and dedicated lanes for buses, to Ashland Avenue. Construction could begin as early as 2015, the CTA said. The city has been studying the possibility of bus rapid transit on Ashland and Western Avenues but decided to prioritize Ashland Avenue.

An event promoted as the "Occupy Festival" has been postponed as several details of the event are reworked, organizers announced Tuesday. Organizers said in a press release that "sharp criticism" forced changes to the music fest, such as reducing ticket prices from the originally planned $55 for a two-day pass, changing the festival's name and possibly swapping the Union Park venue for an indoor one. "We are not trying to brand Occupy or...

**1/2 (out of four) I'd say I'm of two minds about “Disconnect,” but I think it's more like my mind and my heart don't agree on this one. For starters: IMDB plot summaries don't get much drier than, “A drama centered on a group of people searching for human connections in today's wired world.” Come on, you don't want to see that movie. Especially when the poster says “look up” and features a bunch of people milling about. We know we're disconnected - you may have read a story about it earlier today, gazing at your phone/iPad/tiny screen reflected on the back of...

The CTA today released details about its upcoming experiment with bus rapid transit, an express bus service that typically relies on bus-only lanes and traffic signal priority for buses. The service, which will run along Jeffery Boulevard, will be called Jeffery Jump, the CTA announced today. It also released a photo of the bus, which will be blue. The route, which will operate between 103rd Street and Ogilvie station, is expected to begin running in November. The agency says it will shave five to seven minutes off the morning and evening commute.

On Sept. 25, 1993, Robert O'Dubaine was gunned down in the garage of the Bucktown condo he shared with his girlfriend, Catherine Suh. Investigation Discovery's "FBI: Criminal Pursuit" takes a looks at the infamous Chicago murder case at 9 p.m. April 8 in an episode titled "The Black Widow. " The series presents the case rather cheesily at times through dramatic reenactments of key moments and interviews with real people who were involved at the time. It wastes no time rightfully demonizing Catherine, explaining how she sought to live and maintain a lavish lifestyle...

Here's the gist of Monday's state hearing about CTA's Ventra system: The public transit agency is not doing a good job of educating the public about the details of its new fare collection method, which is scheduled to roll out within months. The CTA said it plans to launch this month an extensive outreach campaign about transitioning to Ventra, which may start as early as "early this summer," CTA President Forrest Claypool said at Monday's hearing, which was attended by CTA, Metra and Pace officials.

BBC America has released the first image of Matt Smith in the 2012 "Doctor Who" Christmas special, set to air t 8 p.m. CT Dec. 25. The holiday special was written by lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat and co-stars Jenna-Louise Coleman as Oswin, the Doctor's new companion we saw earlier this season in "Asylum of the Daleks. **1/2 (out of four) What a week for bad behavior. While Denzel Washington's heroic, drug- and alcohol-addicted pilot in “Flight” is getting raves, “The Details” presents a character study with rougher edges and more to say than, “It's difficult but important to admit when you have a problem.” Doing no favors for stereotypes about priorities that drive the male brain, Jeff (Tobey Maguire) digs himself into an increasingly deeper hole with multiple fouls. He sleeps with his gorgeous...

When Mercadito Hospitality opened PT earlier this year inside the Talbott Hotel, diners were warned that it wouldn't stick around for long. The restaurant group, which also owns River North restaurants Mercadito and Tavernita, was upfront in calling PT a pop-up restaurant that would operate throughout the summer until a permanent restaurant opened there in the fall. That new restaurant will be called Little Market Brasserie, and it will open in "early winter," according to an announcement released Monday by Mercadito Hospitality.
