NBC announced its fall 2013 premiere dates for new and returning series Friday, including an hourlong Season 6 premiere of "Parks and Recreation" filmed in London followed by back-to-back episodes of the new sitcom "Michael J. Fox Show. " Both shows will debut on Sept. 26. In his new series, Fox stars as a father and husband returning to work as a news reporter in New York after a brief leave of absence to get his Parkinson's under control. Fox lives with the disease. The two-hour premiere of "The Voice" on Sept.

NBC released its midseason schedule for 2012, and missing from it are "Community" and "Prime Suspect. " Both ratings-starved but critically praised series have been pulled from the schedule. A spokesman from NBC has told me that "Prime Suspect" "is still under consideration but nothing definitive has been decided. " It's doubtful the show will be picked up for the rest of the season, despite the fact it's getting better each week. NBC will likely air the initial 13 episodes and then say good-bye.

NBC announced its 2012-13 primetime schedule Sunday that capitalizes on the popularity of "The Voice" by launching a new fall edition of the singing competition series. The network also plans to add six new scripted series in the fall and four at mid-season, banking on comedy this fall by adding comedies to Tuesday and Friday nights. The season's new fall comedies are "Go On," "The New Normal," "Animal Practice" and "Guys with Kids. " Other mid-season comedies include "Save Me," "1600 Penn" and "Next Caller.

Chicago native Danny Pudi and “Community” fans got a big surprise Friday during a flurry of news about what we'll be watching on the TV networks this fall. The beleaguered NBC sitcom has been renewed for fifth season. “Wild times and I truly didn't know what to expect. But that's always been our show--we never know what to expect,” Pudi wrote in an email. “Gotta thank the fans [and] my mom … for cheering on the Greendale gang. GO BULLS!” Did I mention Pudi's from Chicago?

Cable networks kick off the Fall TV season in early September with a variety of reality series, scripted dramas and comedies. Later in the month, the broadcast networks join the fray with their new and returning series. And if you oly watch TV on your computer, YouTube and Netflix are launching new comedies this month as well. It's going to be a busy month for TV fanatics. Hoping to change it prime time fortunes, NBC announced a bold new schedule Sunday filled with new shows and familiar stars. The network plans to introduce 17 new series during the season, including six new comedies, eight new dramas and three new reality shows. The schedule, announced by NBC's chairman of entertainment Robert Greenblatt, shakes up the network's schedule every night of the week except Sundays in the fall, which remains devoted to NBC's only sure thing--NFL football.

 Ridiculously, unjustly, few Oscar prognosticators include “This is 40” star Leslie Mann or her husband, writer-director Judd Apatow, on lists of likely nominees. Thing is, Apatow's a member of the Academy - will he vote for himself? “I've always voted for myself,” says Apatow (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Funny People”). “That's when you know it's all so silly. Because you vote for yourself and you're like, 'My vote would count more if I didn't even vote for anyone else.
