The Blackhawks' "Carbomb," forward Dan Carcillo, loves his tunes. Here's a mixtape of some Carcillo musical trivia: He's planning on seeing Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field. He plans to hit a party at a friend's house or go out in Wrigleyville beforehand, though he doesn't know where he's sitting yet. If the Hawks lost the rights to "Chelsea Dagger" to play after each goal, Carcillo would choose The Who's "Baba O'Reilly. " Before a game he expects to be particularly physical, Carcillo listens to Rage Against the Machine or "heavier" Led Zeppelin to get pumped up. He's visited the home of Michael Jackson in...

Before you lose patience with the Bears' general manager search, consider how high the bar's been set for sports brass in this city. Seriously. Chicago has (mostly) figured out that success starts at the top. Kenny Williams, White Sox Give Williams this: He always goes down swinging (insert Adam Dunn joke here). While acquiring the criminally underachieving Dunn, Jake Peavy and Alex Rios has come back to haunt him, Williams still has his 2005 World Series trump card.

Wednesday's Game 7 against Detroit is the Blackhawks' biggest showdown of the season. Winner moves on, loser starts summer vacation. So you can be sure that prior to puck drop, as fans listen to music blaring throughout the United Center, the Hawks will rev up the locker room with their favorite tunes. Odds are they won't be jamming to the Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up," even though Mick Jagger and the boys played the Madhouse on Madison on Tuesday. Considering that they've come back from a 3-1 deficit in the series, however, they might want to include Pearl Jam's "Alive"...

With 24 games in the books, the first half of the Blackhawks' 2013 season has been one for the ages. To mark the occasion, RedEye spoke with Blackhawks announcer Eddie Olczyk as well as fans about why they're so excited about this team.   What are the defining characteristics of why this team is so good? Eddie Olczyk: I would say with this team, regardless of who comes out the door for a shift, forwards, defensemen, you've got two goaltenders, so whichever goaltender is playing - the interchangeable parts of this team is I think what separates them from a lot of teams.
