First "Community," now "Cougar Town. " What is the deal with the networks taking my favorite comedies off their schedules? Just a week after NBC disappointed "Community" fans by dropping it from the spring schedule, ABC has decided to leave its quirky Courtney Cox sitcom off its spring list - at least for now. The network says the series will be back at some point. Sadly, the network has dropped its episode order from 22 to 15. Annoooying. ABC also didn't offer premiere dates for new comedy "Apartment 23" and Shonda Rhimes' drama "Scandal.

Wine lovers, "Cougar Town" will return Feb. 14. The Courteney Cox sitcom will premiere its will premiere its 15-episode Season 3 at 7:30 p.m. CT, the time slot held briefly by the now canceled "Work It. " ABC made the announcement Tuesday. The news comes less than two weeks after the multi-city "Cougar Town" tour launched by show co-creator Bill Lawrence came to Lincoln Park bar Racine Plumbing, where fans watched the two episodes from Season 3, played Penny Can and chatted up star Busy Philipps and writer Melody Derloshon.

The rogue marketing campaign to bring ABC's "Cougar Town" back to TV came to Chicago Saturday, and star Busy Philipps was ready to party. "The cast will tell you that I'm the most not like my character," the Oak Park native told the crowd of about 100-some fans at Lincoln Park bar Racine Plumbing. The 2012 Emmy nominations are in the books and my first-blush reactions are mixed. Some surprises left me smiling while I was scratching my head about a few perennial nominations. And of course I have to bitch about them all. So here's a quick list of the noms that made me happy and not so much. I'll probably have more to see later, too. But I'm on vacation and I'm supposed to be relaxing, not getting upset. I'm thrilled to see: Chicago gal Joan Cusack gets a guest nomination for"Shameless.

Two manly men can't find work, so they line their eyes with mascara, wrap up the equipment with Ace bandages and squeeze into dresses to get jobs as women. ABC, you can do better than this drivel you call "Work It" (7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3; 0 stars - that's right, zero stars). "Work It" is so bad, it makes the equally dismal "Last Man Standing," which airs at 7 p.m. Tuesdays on ABC, look brilliant.
