Got a bicycle (or just a few bike parts) that you haven't used in years? Angela Ford wants it. Ford, a Bronzeville native, is spearheading an effort to give 500 bicycles away to neighborhood kids this month, and she needs at least 100 more by Saturday to hit her goal. The project, called the Bronzeville Bike Builder, is being organized by the TAG Foundation, an organization that promotes affordable housing and community development. Ford, who serves as executive director, said the idea came to her a little more than a year ago when she moved back to the South Side...

It was two days before DB Burkeman's sticker-history exhibit was set to debut, and there was still a lot to do. Burkeman, a London-born DJ, and his project manager of two days, Ned White, stood around plexiglass sheets, using a gummy tape to avoid damaging the delicate artwork and attaching dozens of Radiohead stickers, from the band's first album release in the early 1990s to today.  The Radiohead stickers are just a fraction of Burkeman's collection...

One of the laziest criticisms of the Midwest is that there's no "culture" here. The folks behind Collective Quarterly would like to shove that BS down your misguided throats, OK? (Sorry, we didn't sleep well last night.)  The travel and design-focused magazine spotlights one city per issue and does a deep dig into the culture and hidden gems contained within using stunning photography and interviews with local characters. RedEye talked to editor Seth Putnam (you may know him from menswear blog TheMidweStyle and drinking club The Overserved Society ...

Jason Azul could probably run a Bulls gift shop right out of his apartment. Step inside his "man cave" in the South Loop, and you're greeted with Bulls pictures, jerseys, action figures, bobbleheads and even a doll. "I've been embarrassed to have Derrick Rose sign it," said Azul, 27, of the 18-inch Derrick Rose doll that retails for around $300. "I tried to get my girlfriend to get him to. It's definitely a slippery slope. It might be a little embarrassing but you have to collect something.

Santino, Mondo, Uli, Christian and, of course, WENDY PEPPER. Since its inception in 2004, “Project Runway” has been about so much more than great fashion - it's also brought us some great characters. Though this is entertainment, designers are there for a purpose: as mentor Tim Gunn says, to “make it work.” “Some of the drama that happened on the show was just pointless, and I don't want to waste my brain cells,” said Justin LeBlanc, one of Season 12's four finalists.

Zero stars (out of four) For what it's worth, metal really turns in a top-notch performance in “The Collection.” Among countless, insanely intricate killing devices, not one malfunctions. They brutally punish every human in sight, with each squish of blood and crush of bone cranked to 11 for maximum entertainment. Oh, right, this sort of gruesome, miserable torture porn isn't remotely entertaining. Yet here we go again in this totally unjustified sequel to the mediocre 2009 horror flop “The Collector,” in which a masked killer known...

If you ask me, the days of "nerds versus jocks" are long gone. These days it's very hard to make a distinction between the two factions, because the line that seperates them has blurred to the point of being non-existent. Consider this: two prominent Chicago Bears players, Lance Briggs and Israel Odonijea have produced their own comic books. The current GMs of the Bears and Chicago Cubs are admitted "stat nerds", using sabermetrics and the like to help them make decisions on what players to draft and sign.
