Lucasfilm announced Monday that the recently completed fifth season of its animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" would indeed be the last on Cartoon Network. In a message and video to fans on the starwars.com site, supervising director Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm explained the decision and offered a peek of what is ahead for the franchise after Disney purchased Lucasfilm more than five months ago. General Krell continues his relentless assault on the planet of Umbara in "The General," the latest episode of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" debuting at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 on Cartoon Network. It's the second of four episodes about the attack on Umbara, and was directed by Walter Murch, who won Oscars for both sound and picture editing of "The English Patient. " (He also has an Oscar for his sound editing of "Apocalypse Now. ") The A longtime friend of George Lucas worked with the "Star Wars" creator on the films "THX 1138" and "American Graffiti.

Clone troopers, droids, Gen. Grievous, the younglings on their own--it looks like this week's episode of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is fully loaded with drama and action. In "Bound for Rescue," airing at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 on Cartoon Network, Ahsoka is captured by Hondo's pirates. The younglings she's been training have barely created their lightsabers, but they head to the pirates' den to launch a daring rescue. As for Gen. Grievous, as you can see in the clip below, he's coming for his old nemesis, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and he's looking even more ruthless than ever.
