The question prompted by this year's remarkably underwhelming array of (repeat) Lolla headliners (including The Killers, Vampire Weekend and Mumford and Sons) was, “Where are all the headliner-caliber rock bands that have never played Lolla and, you know, are actually good?” At Thursday's sold-out Chicago Theatre show, Paramore had the answer. Tiny Hayley Williams is leading a giant revolution, shooting sweet darts into the hearts and lungs of fans that belt out every cathartic word.

Compare the dating scene a decade ago to today's vibe and you couldn't have two more opposite entities. Texting, sexting, Facebook messaging, Tinder using, Snapchatting … the list goes on and on. Enter Aziz Ansari, a South Carolina-born comic who can not only riff on the subject, but draw from personal moments that prove "we're all dealing with the same nonsense," he said. Ansari, 31, best known for his role as Tom Haverford on NBC's "Parks and Recreation," is in the midst of his "Modern Romance" comedy tour, which lands in Chicago for four shows (7 p.m. and 10 p.m....

If you're a fan of animated television shows, one of the true delights is attending a live reading of an episode by the show's cast. Fans of the FX series Archer are now going to have a chance to experience that at the Chicago Theatre on April, 5th when the cast of the hilarious animated comedy appear for " Archer Live! " I've posted a video (see above) recorded at the event in Philadelphia earlier this year. The crowd sounds like they're having a helluva good time.

But they didn't say we couldn't tip you off to what happened during the taping, afterward! Several musicians made the news in recent years after they got robbed while touring through Chicago. Oregon-based band Portugal. The Man lost $80,000 worth of gear after playing Lollapalooza in 2011. But the story has a somewhat happy ending: Chicago police officers recovered some of the gear after it was sold at the 40th and Ashland Avenue Swap-O-Rama later that summer. San Francisco-based band FayRoy parked their van, with all of their instruments inside of it, in Ukranian Village on Sept.

On any given night, a Chicagoan has dozens of opportunities to hear live musicians perform. But that also means a thief has at least as many chances to nab thousands of dollars worth of music gear from touring performers. Depending on who you ask within Chicago's music scene, the city may be the "Bermuda Triangle" of band gear. Or it may just be another major metropolitan area offering both peril and opportunity for indie musicians on the road. Consider the Louisiana band Brass Bed, who have been victims of theft twice while...

Wayne Brady's schedule is a multitasker's dream come true. He's gearing up to host this year's BET Honors in February, traveling the country for his "It's My Line" Tour, taping a new season of "Whose Line Is It Anyway," recording his own music and producing and selling sitcoms - and that's not all. All the while, Brady plays dad to his 10-year-old daughter, Maile, whom he is raising with ex-wife Mandie Taketa. The tales from their parenting adventures are pure gold. No, really. The divorced couple has their own production company, Frankie and Johnny, and recently sold a sitcom about their unique story.
