This could only happen in the Windy City. The one awful series in this legendary NBA first round involved your Chicago Bulls. Fortunately, the Blackhawks are starting to look like favorites to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. And we're approaching the stage of the playoffs when beards transition from quirky to downright creepy. -Patrick Kane scored two goals Friday night in a Game 1 win against the Minnesota Wild. The narrative of Derrick Rose's return from injury has intensified from a simple comeback to a saga, and we're one Reggie Rose impromptu press conference away from a full-blown soap opera. He needs to return, and soon. And whether that's fair or not no longer matters. Regardless of whether it was Bulls team doctor Brian Cole's intention to pressure Rose into returning, it's not a given he would do so on Jerry Reinsdorf's orders against his own medical opinion. Do you think Cole would publicly clear Rose if he thought a catastrophic re-injury would occur?

Well, I said I wasn't going to do it, swore to myself it was never going to happen, ignored them for the entire first half of the season, pretended they didn't exist, and then, while I wasn't paying attention, I accidentally fell in love with them. I'm speaking of the Chicago Bulls and darn it, they are freaking lovable. I have no idea how this happened. Seriously. Wait, I know. Some guys at work were like "Hey, have you watched these guys play? They're really good. You should watch them.

May 4, 2013: the day the Chicago Bulls made history. That's a remarkable statement for a franchise with six NBA championships, six NBA MVP awards, four All-Star MVPs and a boatload of All-Stars, and so on. But watching the Bulls gut out a Game 7 ROAD WIN with basically six players was one of the great feats I have ever seen. And now, for future generations of Bulls fans: Amazing Facts About The 2013 Bulls-Nets Series. 1. The Bulls won a seven-game playoff series without home-court advantage and without their team MVP, despite Brooklyn's best player playing the same position as...

And so it ends. No more basketball. No more games. No more 2013 Chicago Bulls. The season started with fans talking about who wasn't there. It ended with fans talking about who was. It started with hope for The Return. It ended with the return of hope. It started with us thinking we'd go as far as No. 1 took us. It ended with us knowing that the team is number one. For that, Chicago should have but one thing to say: thank you. Thank you, Joakim Noah for producing a masterful season from start to finish.

Measuring the unmeasurable. Or as Hawk Harrelson says, you can't measure a player's heart. And, it pains me to say it, he's right. As proof, your Chicago Bulls. I am 1) speechless and 2) Even after Wednesday's meltdown, I'm all in. I'm ordering a Nate Robinson jersey! I'm ordering a Jimmy Butler jersey! With "Buckets" on the back. Jimmy, has Hollywood called yet? And a quick note on Tom Thibodeau. The guy finishes eighth in Coach of the Year voting? Um, sorry. The guy is the best coach in the league.

They might be fourth in their division right now, but they're in first before the game even starts. The Chicago Wolves' pregame show has been named the Best Team Introduction in professional sports, beating out a number of teams in all areas of athletics. The title was bestowed upon the team by GameOps.com , an Ohio-based website that connects teams and event producers, allowing them to network and generate ideas to “enhance the entertainment value of their events,” according to the company's website.

As a ball boy for the Bulls from 1994-1997, Jason Franklin has stories. Not everyone can claim Scottie Pippen drove you in his Ferrari to your first date.   After Franklin, who grew up in Deerfield but now lives in L.A., had that introduction to the sports world, it's no surprise he never wanted to move too far away from it. Once he realized would never play for Bulls, he figured he should do something merging his love of sports and design. In 2006, Franklin started Sportiqe and soon found his clothes in every NBA arena.

Chicagoans play in bowling, kickball, baseball, beach volleyball and countless other sport leagues. But skee ball? It's more popular than you think. "For most of the people, the last time they played was when they were 5 years old at Chuck E. Cheese's," said Mike Fraser, director of league operations for the Skee League, Chicago's first skee ball league. In two years, the Skee League has grown to 60 three-person teams--180 members in all--who play at Glascott's Saloon in Lincoln Park.

Welcome to the graveyard. Nice quote by Kyle Korver after Derrick Rose went down: "God does his best work in life's graveyards. " I guess my response would be: "If you find yourself in a graveyard, stop digging. " I have no idea what that means but it sounds pretty cool. For the Bulls, I'm afraid the title hopes are done. But the season is far from over. Stay with me. The old Bulls only became great by having to overcome the Pistons - as a team. These Bulls will have to learn to be great without Rose - pure and simple.
