Listen, I like Ozzie Guillen. I really do. We were two of the only people in Chicago with back-to-back Z's in our first name. But there comes a time in a dog's life when he must take a stand. Ozzie has crossed a line. And behalf of all dogs in this fine world, I've got to put him - and all dog owners, for that matter--in his place. Please, for the love of all that is sacred, don't kiss your dog with an open mouth like the Ozman did on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. First of all, it looks downright revolting.

Don't let his name fool you: Chris Tickle doesn't plan on making people laugh. He wants to hurt them. Tickle, of Pontiac, Ill., grew up the "tough guy" in the town about 100 miles southwest of Chicago. That reputation eventually led the 29-year-old to mixed martial arts. Now, with 19 MMA fights under his belt, Tickle is taking the next step in his career and trying to break into the UFC. He's getting that chance on the FX reality competition "Ultimate Fighter Live," premiering Friday.

Earlier this fall, “Hart of Dixie” actor Wilson Bethel wrote on Twitter that he was “glistening like a Christmas ham” for an upcoming episode. Bethel, who plays bad boy Wade Kinsella in the CW series, seemed a little embarrassed while talking about being shirtless for so much of the episode, but said that it makes sense within the story and is used with a great sense of humor.   “It doesn't really enter into the realm of being egregiously ridiculous,” he told me shortly after filming the episode.

The swaggy bro just keeps outdoing himself. Lately, you cannot go a day without reading about an incident involving his crazy antics. One day, he's spotted at a brothel in Brazil.

***1/2 (out of four) While many of its contemporaries in '80s new wave nostalgia drowned their music and accompanying emotions in electronic filters, Twin Shadow's 2010 debut “Forget” embraced the era's tradition of moody music on its own terms. George Lewis Jr., Twin Shadow's creative force, delivered sharp production and musicianship that recalled actual period bands rather than merely leaning on the '80s shorthand of Human League-style synth effects. For a breakup album, however, “Forget” could have the effect of leaving its listeners more impressed than moved.

***1/2 (out of four) There aren't many second acts for former stars of non-competition reality TV series. For Dawn Richard, formerly of “Making the Band” group Danity Kane and Bad Boy R&B experiment Diddy-Dirty Money, the story is just getting interesting. Richard's solo debut, “Goldenheart,” is a fiercely distinct, self-contained hour of freewheeling, genre-bending music. It opens with an interpretation of Phil Collins' “In The Air Tonight,” then plays with sounds that could pass for an Enya/Sade collaboration and dips into the...
