The Chicago Police Department is warning Loop business owners of a spree of cologne thefts from a store on State Street.

A man has been stealing cologne from at least one store in the 0-100 block of North State Street at least three times this year, according to the police alert. In each incident, the man entered the store, stole bottles of cologne, and then threatened store security guards, according to the alert. The guards confronted him with a weapon, which could have been either mace, a knife or a gun, and then the man fled the store on foot.

The Loop-area of State Street has several department and clothing stores, including a T.J. Maxx, H&M, and Macy's.

The incidents reportedly took place March 10 at 3:23 p.m., May 8 at 8 p.m., and May 27 at 12:45 p.m.
