The Chicago Police Department is warning Lincoln Park residents about a series of thefts of high-end bicycles this week.

The bicycles were stolen from garages in the neighborhood, the alert said, after an uknown offender gained entry to them. The alert said the police do not know what the offender looked like or how he or she may have gotten into the garages.

The thefts reportedly took place overnight from May 19 to May 20 at a home in the 2200 block of North Greenview Avenue and overnight between May 20 and 22 in the 2300 block of North Bosworth Avenue.

To protect themselves from similar thefts, police officials recommend residents keep their homes well-lit, secure their doors and windows and immediately repair any broken ones, and report suspicious activities.
