'Falling Skies' Season 4: Great battle is coming

With the fourth season of "Falling Skies" just two months away TNT has dropped an epic trailer that shows new characters, a changed Anne Glass and a very different baby Alexis.

She's all growed up! When last we saw her, 6-year-old (or close) Alexis—the love child of Anne (Moon Bloodgood), Tom (Noah Wyle) and whatever bug the aliens had put inside him—was able to de-bug Lourdes (Seychelle Gabriel) with no problem.

In the new season, Scarlett Byrne plays the blonde, older and rather mysterious Alexis. "I want to show you something," she says, "the future."

Lexi may be the key to peace between the races—or she's just another weapon to use against humanity.

As Season 3 ended last summer, the soldiers of the 2nd Mass teamed with the Volm aliens to score a major victory over the Espheni aliens with Maggie (Sarah Carter) delivering the final blow to kill alien Karen (Jessy Schram). But the humans parted ways with the Volm, which could spell trouble for our heroes.

The trailer shown over the weekend at WonderCon in Anaheim, Calif., shows a lot of scattered bodies and fighting, including from medic Anne, who looks battle-ready. "You have taken everything and everyone I have ever loved," she says in the trailer, adding later, "We have to end this war."

Anne's bad-ass attitude isn't the only change we'll see. Did you catch the kiss between Maggie and Ben (Connor Jessup), younger brother of Maggie's boyfriend, Hal (Drew Roy)? What's up with that?

Troublemaker Pope (Colin Cunningham) gets a new love interest this season, too. The clip gives us a peek at Mira Sorvino's new character, Sara. Maybe she's the reason Pope seems ready to hang up his weapons, saying, "I'm done fighting. I'm done running. This is no way to live."

Back to Lexi. She also welcomes Ben into her pod home and says, "You'll be safe here." Ben's still got a bit of an alien connection—so maybe she can relate to him beyond the brother-sister thing.

Will she be friend of foe? "Fallings Skies" returns at 9 p.m. June 22 on TNT.
