A Chicago man was accused of breaking into an Old Town home Tuesday morning after he set off the home's alarm system and fled with a diaper bag, county prosecutors said.

Raymond Hampton, 53, of the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue, was arrested near the allegedly burglarized home on North Cleveland Avenue carrying a diaper bag he purportedly grabbed from a kitchen table counter after breaking into the home, according to the police report.

Hampton broke into the home's rear door with a knife, the police report said, setting off the home's alarm system. The 36-year-old man who lived in the home came into the kitchen, saw Hampton and shouted at him to leave. He then called the police, the report said, prompting Hampton to run out with the knife and the bag.

Hampton was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Monday afternoon and ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
