Muddy Waters Tribute Night

Untitled 111 W. Kinzie St. 312-880-1511

The father of modern "electrified" Chicago blues was born in April 1913, passed away in April 1983 and was a major inspiration for the 1960s blues explosion in British rock. Celebrate this legacy with tribute sets from Pistol Pete and $10 old fashioned cocktails made with Old Forester Untitled Private Barrel bourbon. 7-10 p.m. No cover. RSVP recommended: muddywaterstribute.eventbrite.com

'Mud Blue Sky'

A Red Orchid Theatre 1531 N. Wells St. 312-943-8722

Set aside your fond—or not so fond—prom night memories at the Chicago premiere of this dramedy by local playwright Marisa Wegrzyn ("Diversey Harbor") in which a teenage pot dealer ditches his prom for a hotel room party with three older flight attendants. 8 p.m. $15 through Saturday; $25-$30 thereafter. Tickets: aredorchidtheatre.org
