After an argument on the No. 12-Roosevelt bus allegedly turned violent, a man was accused of attacking a 65-year-old man near the UIC medical campus.

Steven House, 31, of the 1300 block of South Blue Island Avenue, allegedly followed an elderly man to the back of a Roosevelt bus after 5 p.m. on Saturday, where the two had a verbal altercation, according to county prosecutors.

House followed the man off the bus near the corner of Racine Avenue and Roosevelt Road, where a CVS security guard saw him begin attacking the man, according to the police report. The security guard tried to separate House and the man but couldn't until police arrived and arrested him, the report said. The man was brought to the Cook County hospital to be treated.

House was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Monday afternoon and ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
