IKEA helps Frank the Cosplayer [VIDEO]

March 11, 2014|By Elliott Serrano, @ElliottSerrano | For RedEye

I'm someone who has a substantial collection of geeky toys, books and assorted collectibles, and this video really spoke to me.

As part of a promotion to appeal to the "geek chic market," furniture maker IKEA created this spot to show how they helped a prominent cosplayer (costume player) from Singapore get his bedroom in order. Frank the Cosplayer has won awards and gained notoriety for his impressive outfits and as you could imagine, he only had so much room to store them.

After working their magic, the folks at IKEA turned Frank's disheveled living space into something out of their catalog.

Now, the final setup looks very nice and tidy, although I wonder how much of his costuming stayed in his room and how much of it got put in boxes and stored in the basement.

All I do know is that I would totally volunteer to let the folks at IKEA get my home office - AKA the "Nerd Cave" - organized.

What do you think? Is getting your own geeky living space straightened out a challenge? Do you think it's as easy as this video makes it look?
