Soldier Field in March may be just as brutal as a December football game.
The Hawks on Friday will test the outdoor ice rink on the field before the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series matchup with Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Playing in Chicago has turned some of the Blackhawks into football fans.
"Being from Canada, I know we have the CFL," forward Bryan Bickell said. "It's tough to follow. I'm not a big fan of the CFL. Being in Chicago for as long as I have been, I'm a Bears fan definitely."
"I didn't really know what football was before I started, before I came to the states," said fellow Canadian Kris Versteeg.
While many Hawks players have watched Bears games at Soldier Field, we found out how well they know the Monsters of the Midway.

Who's your favorite NFL team?
Kris Versteeg: "Dallas Cowboys."
Bryan Bickell: "It has to be the Bears."
Ben Smith: "Giants. I grew up in Connecticut so we were all New York Yankees, Rangers and Giants fans."
Brandon Bollig: "I like the Bears. I just don't know an abundance of football."
Do you have a favorite NFL player?
Kris Versteeg: "My favorite player in league used to be [wide receiver Chad] Ochocinco, just because he's a complete mess. And now actually, it's Chad Johnson."
Ben Smith: "I love watching Calvin Johnson. I had him on my fantasy team, but I also love watching the Lions, actually, even though they're in the Bears' division. They're a fun team to watch."
Bryan Bickell: "Robbie Gould the kicker. I met him a couple times. He's a great person."
Brandon Bollig: "I don't."
Have you been to Soldier Field games?
Kris Versteeg: "I've been to one, yeah. And I've also been to a concert at Soldier Field."
Bryan Bickell: "Yeah, I've been to a couple. I went to the one when Ditka retired his jersey. I was hurt but the guys were on the road. So I had to stay back here and do some rehab and I was fortunate to go to that game, which was cold. It's always nice to go to the game. It was nice to be inside. I was in a box when it was one of the coldest days of the winter where everyone was freezing."
Ben Smith: "I have never been to a game. Actually, I've never been to a NFL game ever. It's something I'd like to do."
Brandon Bollig: "I've been to games."
How good do you think you are at Bears trivia?
Kris Versteeg: "Not good."
Bryan Bickell: "Yeah, you could throw a couple [questions]."
Ben Smith: "I may struggle. Yeah, I'll try."
Brandon Bollig: "Not very well, but I can try."
Who is the Bears all-time leader in career passing yards?
Kris Versteeg: "Rex Grossman."
Bryan Bickell: "Is he current right now? Passing yards would be [Jay] Cutler."
Ben Smith: "Like throwing passing? Jay Cutler."
Brandon Bollig: "[Jay] Cutler maybe."
Which Bears player just had his number retired?
Kris Versteeg: "Sweet. Walter Payton. Is that who it is?"
Ben Smith: "Ditka?"
Brandon Bollig: "Ditka... I happened to see that game."
Bonus: What was the number?
Bryan Bickell: "89."
In which season did the Bears last win the Super Bowl?
Kris Versteeg: "Yeah, like '80 ... '80? I know, I know. I hear it all the time. '88. '86? '85? Oh yeah, '85 Bears. OK, '85."
Bryan Bickell: "Oh, I want to say '86. ... '85? I was close. I wasn't even born."
Ben Smith: "The '80s. Is it '85?"
Brandon Bollig: "I have no idea. I will guess the 90s? I don't know. I have no idea."
Who led the Bears in rushing this year?
Kris Versteeg: "[Matt] Forte. I can name some more up-to-date stuff."
Bryan Bickell: "Was it Forte?"
Brandon Bollig: "Forte."
