The event will be held in Chicago June 7 at Montrose Beach.
Chicago is 164 feet and a few months away from unlimited bacon.
The Bacon Chase, announced Tuesday, is a new 5K race coming to the city, which benefits St. Jude's Children's Hospital and is organized by Red Frog Events. Sure, you could run the standard 3.1-mile course dubbed the "Piggy Pilgrimage" to obtain the promised unlimited bacon, but the event also offers a quicker option: A .05K course, or 164 feet, called the "Blitz to Bacon."
Registration is $20 for the short course and $35 for the standard race, which will be at 7:30 a.m. June 7 at Montrose Beach. The race coincides with a festival billed as featuring "bacon-themed activities, music, and revelry." Registration for both races include:
- Unlimited bacon at the finish line.
- Bacon bits along the course.
- A free Bloody Mary.
- A t-shirt.
- A bacon scented race bib.
- Access to the festival area.
The Bacon Chase site notes there will be no vegetarian options.
