Police warn of McCormick Place car thefts

The Chicago Police Department released an alert this morning warning of a spate of car thefts in several McCormick Place parking lots.

The alert said an unknown offender with no identifying features stole cars from the convention center parking lots in the 2300 block of South Lake Shore Drive and the 2900 block of South Moe Drive on Jan. 18 and 19.

The first car theft was reported on Jan. 18 around 2 p.m., the second on Jan. 19 at around 12:15 p.m., the third sometime that day between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the fourth between 11:40 a.m. and 7:15 p.m., according to the alert.
