An Evanston man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police officers found a package containing thousands of dollars worth of cannabis being mailed to him.

Tom Foorman, 22, of the 1200 block of North Chicago Avenue, was arrested after police officers conducted a controlled delivery of the United States Postal Service package containing the drugs, which are valued at more than $42,000. Foorman accepted the package from them, according to court records.

Foorman was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Thursday afternoon and was released on a $25,000 bond with electronic home monitoring required.
