This past weekend was full of geeky stuff for yours truly, leaving me with a couple things to rave - and rant - about. We'll star with the most recent and work our way backwards, shall we?:
BBC reveals the NEW LOOK of Doctor Who!
With production of the newest season of Doctor Who underway, it was only a matter of time before we got a look at the 12th Doctor's outfit as worn by Peter Capaldi.

Word around the internet has ranged from "pretty cool" to "eh, I can live with it." Count me in the "pretty cool" camp, as they've decided to not make a radical change from the Matt Smith Doctor while evoking a bit of John Pertwee.
And while they may say the clothes make the man, I'm still reserving judgement on how Capaldi handles the character.
Meanwhile, cosplayers will find it relatively easy to put together a Capaldi Doctor Who outfit shopping at Burberry and The Gap.
Bryan Singer unveils costume character designs for X-Men: Days of Future Past!
Bryan Singer and Empire Magazine have teamed up to fill the day with revelatory tweets giving people a taste of what the future (or the past) will hold in the new X-Men feature film "Days of Future Past."
First you got a look at a 70's era Sentinel:
Then a reveal of Peter Dinklage's character (I didn't even know he was in the movie. Doh!)
And then came the reveal that has had all the comic geeks going "wha-?" with the unveiling of the X-Men version of mutant villain-turned-hero Quicksilver:
Chatter on Twitter is already claiming that Joss Whedon's version of the speedster for Avengers 2 will blow right by this one.

WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2014 ENRAGES HARDCORE WRESTLING LEGEND!
If you were one of thos who decided to sink 50 bucks on the latest pay-per-view from the WWE, you were within your right to complain about how the event panned out. I'll spare you the match-by-match breakdown, and just post a link to my review of last year's Royal Rumble.
Why? Because a lot of the same stuff that happened last year happened again this year: yet again Kofi Kingston stole the show with an innovative way of avoiding elimination from the over-the-top-rope battle royal; yet again some big names got pushed to the detriment of lesser names; and yet again CM Punk got screwed. Royally.
Last year, Chicago's Favorite Son got screwed when he lost the championship belt - and the main event to Wrestlemania - to The Rock. This year he was the first entrant in the Royal Rumble match and made it to the final four before getting pulled out of the ring by Kane, who he had eliminated earlier in the match. What a screw job.
Add to that the fact that the crowd was also chanting for Daniel Bryan the whole night, going so far as to boo the main eventers in John Cena and Randy Orton. It's as if the powers-that-be at WWE are deliberately antagonizing the fan base.
If you think I'm alone in this estimation, you should read what former WWE champion - and "hardcore legend" - Mick Foley said about the event on his Facebook Page! Here's an excerpt:
"I've never felt so disgusted at the conclusion of a WWE (or any) PPV. Like many of you out there, I just don't get it. This Daniel Bryan thing is a phenomenon. You get it. I get it. The fans in Pittsburgh (yes, I was thinking of writing "RIGHT TH...but I'm just not in a cheap pop mood) got it. But tonight, for the first time, I had to admit to myself that the powers that be are just not going to get it. And that makes me sad. I'm just honestly sad, just flat out fucking sad (yes, I dropped an F-bomb there to emphasize how F'ing sad I am for the guys who bust their butts night in and night out - Ziggler, Punk, Bryan, etc - with no hope of getting their shot at this year's Mania."

So yeah, I wasn't the only one annoyed by how things went last night.
And finally, I leave you with my appearance on Redeye Remix with Amy Guth. The wonderfully geeky Guth invited me on the show to talk about anti-harassment policies at comic-cons, along with a few other topics.
As it was a last minute invite and I never got my late-night caffeine boost, I went in a little fuzzy-headed, but I had fun nonetheless.
