The Bears still had a chance to win their season-ending game against the Packers at Soldier Field as the time approached 6 p.m..

But the game was already over for one football fan who was arrested for allegedly walking out onto the field Sunday evening.

Richard Vanhoeven, 37, of Dundee, Ill., was arrested at Soldier Field around 5:50 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass to a place of public amusement. According to the police report, Vanhoeven was arrested shortly after he entered the playing field, which is restricted from public access.

"Bummer, wasn't it?" Judge James Brown, the judge presiding over Central Bond Court, said of the outcome of the sports game when Vanhoeven appeared at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Monday afternoon. He was released on a $10,000 I-bond.
