41 Chicago-area porta-potties wish you a Merry Christmas

December 23, 2013|By Mick Swasko, @swasko | RedEye

Musical holiday light shows are a dime-a-dozen, but no one's ever made one this crappy.

Service Sanitation, an Indiana portable toilet company that services Chicago, decked out 41 porta-potties in lights this year and synched a light show to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra tune. The result is a cheerful holiday tour de force, until you remember that someone likely went to the bathroom in the lighted shelters.

According to the company's YouTube channel, the display took 72 hours of programming and 6 hours of setup to complete, and contains 700 individual light sequences. The company also noted in the video's comments that the potties were, in fact, cleaned before the lighting technicians spent all that time in them.
