Been indulging in all the treats around the office and want to shed a few pounds after the holidays?
The good news is it's easy to do so without an expensive gym membership. The Chicago Park District is bringing back its free fitness week from Jan. 2 through Jan. 12.
That's when Chicagoans can work out for free at any of the Park District's 71 fitness centers and run on the treadmill, take yoga classes or swim laps in the pool.
"We hope to inspire Chicagoans to get active," Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Mike Kelly said in a news release.
Memberships for the park district fitness centers are cheaper than many gyms and typically cost $30 to $60 for three months, the release said.
