Don’t go into mourning just yet—there’s still hope for Brian Griffin.

Sunday’s episode of “Family Guy,” which shocked many with the death of the beloved family dog, may have not been Brian’s final curtain call. Deadline reports that a countdown clock has appeared on a website called “Brian Griffin’s Special Announcement,” leading many to believe that everybody’s favorite canine isn’t done just yet. The clock counts down to 11:59 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013.

The unexpected passing of the pooch has led some loyal “Family Guy” fans to take to the internet with their protests, even creating a Change.org petition with nearly 37,000 signatures. Ratings for the animated series are down by double-digit percentages, sparking theories that Brian’s death was nothing more than a publicity stunt during the November sweeps period and a ploy to boost holiday sales of Brian Griffin merchandise.
