Busiest day to fly during Thanksgiving holiday is Dec. 1

What is expected to be the busiest day at Chicago's airports?

Sunday Dec. 1. That's when 212,000 travelers will come through O'Hare and more than 80,000 passengers will travel through Midway.

The Thanksgiving eight-day travel period begins Nov. 25 and ends Dec. 3. Over that time, Chicago expects more than 1.9 million passengers at O'Hare and Midway, according to a news release issued by the city's Department of Aviation.

Over the holiday period, about 1.4 million travelers are expected to come through O'Hare compared to 525,000 at Midway airport.
