A suburban man was accused of stealing equipment from a Lakeview recording studio and trying to sell some of it on Craigslist, county prosecutors said.

Andre Baker, 26, of Calumet City, visited Rax Trax Recording at 3126 N. Greenview Ave. on Oct. 25, the day employees noticed that two microphones were missing and one had been damaged, prosecutors said.

A recording studio manager later found one of the microphones, valued at more than $1,300, being offered for sale on Craigslist. He arranged a time to meet the seller, allegedly Baker, and brought police officers with him.

Baker was arrested Thursday morning in the 3400 block of North Western Avenue with the microphone, a Black Spade UM25.

Baker was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse and ordered held on $5,000 bond.
