31,000 fans can’t be wrong.
Ranker.com, a site that provides crowdsourced rankings for opinion-based questions, has placed Michael Jordan at the top of its “Top 10 NBA Players of All Time” list. More than 31,000 voters took part in ranking the NBA greats, putting a new wrinkle in the discussion comparing LeBron James to the six-time NBA champ and five-time MVP.
James, who has won two NBA championships with Miami, was ranked No. 13. James recently said in an interview with ESPN the Magazine’s Chris Broussard that Michael Jordan was his favorite basketball player, with Allen Iverson was a close second. Iverson came in at No. 25 in the ranker.com list.
A gap of more than 5,000 votes separates Jordan from the second-place player, Magic Johnson. The top 10 includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (3), Wilt Chamberlin (4), Larry Bird (5), Kobe Bryant (7) and Shaquille O’Neil (9). The list had received more than 479,000 views as of Tuesday.
Notable mentions on the list include Charles Barkley (16), Scottie Pippen (19), Kevin Garnett (22), Chris Paul (44) and Dennis Rodman (45). Chicago’s Derrick Rose came in at 46.
